So guys/girls, what are your favourite releases of this year? (I'll write down my list a bit later.)

Edit: You can also write down your biggest disappointments.

fuck, I can't even think what has come out this year! I'll have to have a think and come back. the only album I can think of right now that I have loved is The Gaslight Anthem - American Slang. wasn't overly impressed with JEW's new album, though I don't want to call it a disappointment as there are a few songs on there I like, and I wasn't expecting anything amazing.

Audio/Rocketry - Eastward + Onward
The Weekend Kids - Of Friends and Foes
Feast or Famine - Edmonton & Company
Eminem - Recovery
My Chemical Romance - Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys
The Damned Things - Ironiclast

I actually managed to find a decent amount of albums that I quite enjoyed for this year! It's more than an album per month, so that's a pretty good ratio.

years 2008 and 2009 were so much better ...
good ones
From Our Hands-Sinners
The Bridgeheads-Foreigners(my favorite in 2010)
TRJA-The Hell or High Water(EP)
Avenged Sevenfold-Nightmare(Nothing breath taking, but at least they did not turn to pop like many other bands)...
Bad Religion-The Dissent of Man
The Gaslight Anthem-American Slang
Band of Horses - Infinite Arms
Airbourne - No Guts, No Glory
Bullet for my Valentine - Fever
AvA-Love(pretty liked it ...not as much as the ones before, but it is still good)

I have A Day To Remember,Link Park and Operation MD new albums to listen to ...I can't understand how come that I haven't listened to it yet ...I will add those albums either up or down as soon as I will be able to judge :P and I don't really know when I will get to listening to them but it will probably be soon(not Sum 41's soon ! XD)

disappointments
Good Charlotte - Cardiology(I haven't even listened to this album because I threw up while listening to Like It's Her Birthday...an album with such a bad song like LIHB would probably kill me...)
Jimmy Eat World - Invented
My Chemical Romance - Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys

I would say that Eminem is somewhere in between ...
and the year 2011 will be great ...Rise Against,Sum 41,Blink 182 and more !

totally forgot to mention the Frank Turner EP, really can't wait for his new album now. I'm sure there's more but I can't think off the top of my head.

This wasn't the greatest year for music,

The only albums that I actually bought were

Eminem - Recovery
Linkin Park - A Thousand Suns
Senses Fail - The Fire
My Chemical Romance - Danger Days

Also Angels & Airwaves - Love wasn't bad, but I expected a little better. I found this year to be pretty crappy because most of my favorite bands didn't release anything, Sum 41, Blink-182, Zebrahead, The Used, Brand New, Hollywood Undead, Green Day...

But hopefully 2011 will have new music from all of those bands!

totally forgot the FYS strong album came out this year. I also need to add Blacklist Royals - Semper Liberi to my list. I've also enjoyed the What's Eating Gilbert EPs.

I'm sure I'll think of more and more to add!

Well, that was a very musical year!
Hmm let me think!

Only one that comes to mind right now is THE disappointment of 2010!

A Day to Remember - What Separates Me from You: Well, I just love this album, cuz I really really like ADTR! But in terms of an ADTR album, it's disappointing and sucks! haha, it's weird, I mean, on one hand, there's a lot of songs I enjoy in here, but comparing it to past album, they're not even close to songs from Homesick or FTWHH, plus it's really really short (around 31 minutes, like some EP) and just kinda lacks the energy and originally of the past albums. It could be understandable though, as the album was made in a rush, while the band was touring nonstop and they were basically forced by Victory Records to put another album out, a year after their latest one.

What did you find bad about those albums? SOTY and SF usually have the same vibe in each album, what made you not like these? I found them to be pretty good!

Ehh i think ADTR have been going downhill since after FTWHH, Homesick and WSMFY are okay but its like they forgot what a breakdown is (excluding Mr.Highway's Thinking Abut the End)

Part one of post

Here are the bands that released something I enjoyed
Allister - I am so glad someone here brought them up and I wiki'd them. I enjoyed their new album and even checked out their old records (new fan now)
American Hi-Fi - Alright record, I like their second record better.
Angels and Airwaves - I was surprised by how good this record was, I was expecting it to suck (had some elements of Box Car Racer in some songs)
The Black Pacific - Good album, good band
Good Charlotte - The only song I didn't like was party like it's her birthday (Some AvA elements on this record though)

I guess that was it for me, I hope next year is better and has more in store =(

Part two of post

Now I don't want to divert this topic, but I am really looking forward to 2011... I have a lot of bands to look forward to...

Some of these might not make the 2011 release date, but here is my list anyway
Spoiler: show
Two new ava songs (I do not like instrumental albums, so this one is going to suck)
blink-182 (if all goes to plan)
Bloodhound Gang
Bowling for soup
(their last album was lame, I am hoping this one brings back their magic)
Eve 6
Everclear
(?)
Fenix Tx (Not sure if they are releasing anything soon, but they said they would)
Foo Fighters
Gob (When Tom stops touring with Sum 41 =/ (Hopefully it won't take them long))
Lit (if all goes well =))
Pennywise
Pulley
Screeching Weasel
(Not the real band without jughead, but I like their music)
Sum 41
Tenacious D
The Ataris
The Living End
The Loved Ones
(American Punk Band)
The Offspring
Unwritten Law
Zebrahead
