when i was listening to catalyst, i waited for the one part where it just explodes, a minute went by then another and i never got what i wanted. this song was alright and i like how theyre experimenting, but i have to say i miss the rock/metal linkin park.
Baby, if you give me the world...I'll burn it right down.

Sucks. Not as much as The Catalyst does, but it still sucks.

personally I could listen "The Catalyst" and "Wretches And Kings" are two very different sounds, and I like, and I also have heard a snippet of another song is called "Waiting For The End" is very soft and Mike's rapping is like jamaican, but I remember I read a review from a fan who said the song had two parts, one part heavy and the other is soft, which ended as a ballad. I hope to hear the whole album soon, because is very different, these three songs sound very different. :glad:

I think it's alright, but I wouldn't download it or anything. I'm not really a fan of Linkin Park but I used to like some of their songs a few years ago.

The Catalyst was better ...
This is Mark Allen Hoppus. He likes long walks on the beach. This, this is travis barker. He likes to be read poetry just before sunset. And me, I like to stick small pieces of furniture up my butt.

what the hell have they done to themselves, this new material sounds trash

I liked quite few songs off "Minutes To Midnight" thought was good album, yes it was different and more mellow but I thought was good album, this new stuff sounds terrible, not buying their new album now.

they need to go back to their Meteora roots, that was their best style

Well whenever one if my top 3/4 bands brings out an album, I always get it immediately. But this album has moved LP out from #3 down to at least #5. And I'm not getting this album.

However, it's obvious that from here, they will either sink into poppy radio-friendly music and die without anybody caring, or will attempt to go backwards a bit and end up with something like Meteora / MTM, which I think I'd probably enjoy.

Srsly though this album makes MTM look like a death metal masterpiece. There was anger there alright, but it was empty and was only used as a selling point. The LP we all knew and loved in 2000 - 2003 is long gone.

I was going to say, this album does make MTM look like a masterpiece! annoyingly, this album will probably end up doing well, just with a different fan base to their original, especially older fans.

At least I can say I've listened to the album once through. At the most, three songs caught my ear (four if you count the one with the chirping crickets. That made me laugh!) the rest was pretty boring for me.

Poppy? Name 1 poppy song from HT/M. And by radio friendly, I mean designed to please as many of the mainstream audience as possible and make money- regardless of consideration for fans.
