live set up

anyone know the bands current set up

iv noticed .. mostly on warped tour

looks as if there amps are set up backwards... faceing behind the stage and not to the crowd ..... anyone know why ( this is also the same in the Sum41.com UH session)

and while im on il post this bootleg show

... you guys have probs seen it anyway

they do it to resolve the tone and volume issue. If the amp's right behind your ear facing you, 1. the audience gets pissed because your too loud 2. you worry bout number 1 too much that the guitars tone is dummied down and you lose the sound that gives you an awesome show. or there's a secret audience behind them.

its just strange .. ive seen many bands live .... sum 41 .. blink ... green day.... metallica... u2... ava....afi...alkaline trio..foo fighters...NFG to name a few for example and most all have there amps normal ... and a lot of them bands have a much better tone that sums .. specialy UH tone

well, the only thing i can think of is other bands use plexiglass shields in front of the amp or use attenuators or something else. as far as i can see, sum 41 turn their amps backwards because it's cheaper.

i imagine they mix everything together in a PA system anyways, so turning the amps backwards probably won't overpower the sound coming from their monitors.

I haven't cracked out that DVD for a while. They were either just hidden or they were playing out of smaller combo amps. The amps are mic-ed up, so the sound will go a long way.

As far as I know Deryck uses a custom diezel head too

Yes and no ;) He uses a Diezel Herbert, too, but not live, just in the studio.
