Thoughts? And yes it's actually leaked now, in 320 kbps :D
I think its great, it has that fire eminem lost for a while. I've only listened about half way through but the best tracks so far to me are:
Space Bound (the chorus gives me chills, also has guitars, always cool)
Talking 2 Myself
Cold Wind Blows
Going Through Changes
and of course, I'm Not Afraid.
Its got an old eminem feel but a new eminem feel at the same time.

Relapse was so intense to listen to, I felt like I had to buy it. I mean it was really disturbing, even for Eminem, but still so incredibly artistic and meaningful. I had to hit pause inbetween to process, what I just heard. The lyrics and the way he arranges them into the songs.. it's just unbelievable. After hearing the first single, I simply didn't expect that at all.
Still have to catch up on the new stuff, thanks for the reminder.

I know, its the polar opposite of Relapse, Relapse was insane and very disturbing, liek you said, thats what made it so brilliant. But Recovery is so uplifting, lighter than Relapse but more powerful in away, as if Relapse was Eminem realizing he was knocked down in the mud and dirt, and Recovery is him getting back up. Truly a brilliant artist.
It has some of that old eminem though, some of the songs sound like they could be on Encore or even Relapse, its all good except for one if you ask me, W.T.P (White Trash Party), doesn't fit the album, too "Shake That Ass" and songs of that nature, should of been a b-side.
The song "You're Never Over" made me sad, its about Proof, its good to hear Eminem addressing his death and that he's gone but never forgotten. The line "If proof could see me now he'd be proud, somewhere in me deep down, there's something that he found, that made him believe in me" is my favorite off the entire album, just because of its meaning to em.

His albums are like books. The last was relapse, and all the songs were the chapters. This is part two, and it's after relapse, so it's called recovery. Brilliant!

I think I'm just going to get it whenever it comes out on iTunes. I'm far too lazy to download the leak. Though I'm excited to listen to the album.
For some reason I couldn't feel the darkness of Relapse like some people have said. A lot of the time it felt like the accents took away from the song. I just couldn't get over them. It was still a decent album though, not complete shit. I really don't think someone like Eminem could achieve a pure shit album.

I wish I could win tickets to the Jay-Z/Eminem tour.
Jay-Z is the man. Eminem is aiight. His new album is annoying as hell with radio play. He's not beating his accents into the ground, but the radio is beating some good songs into the ground.
