Plea For Mercy: Do NOT move this to tech talk, because no one would read it there
My computer is going crazy! when i started it this morning, a yellow bar with "thayet myo hacking day!" appeared, okay, i ignored it, i tried to open MSN but a second bar appeared, so whenever i click on a program, another bar pops up, shortcuts now have all a Zip icon, and keyboard lights keep flashing! the computer is really really slow.
I have Windows XP Pack 2 and Nod32 as an Anti-Virus.
Can someone please help me get rid of this without rebooting the PC?

It's a virus, it seems that a lot of people are getting it, I managed to remove it from my sister's computer with my anti-virus of choice, Avast. I have also heard that Malwarebytes is also a good one of this virus.
You can always try updating your anti-virus detection database and start a full scan and make sure this includes a memory scan. (If your virus programs allows it try a boot-time scan). I've not had much experience with nod32

avast + malwarebytes will do the trick, but I think you'll have to reboot...

Agreed but when he said reboot, I assumed he might mean a complete wipe and re-install of his operating system.

start it up in safe mode by repeatedly pressing F8 when you start up, then perform all the virus stuff. definitely download malware bytes as well

That's exactly what i meant.
I had to reboot the computer (formatted the C drive + re-installed Windows XP) and replaced Nod32 with Avast.
It works perfectly fine now, thanks guys.
