Awesome Dance Song

Post by Simon »

I am addicted to this one sequence/song/sample:
3:14, 3:36 without drums and 4:13 continuing with drums, strings as well as a bit more power on the synths.

Does anyone have any idea where it's from? I just stumbled over this channel and randomly clicked on a mix, not bothering to close the tab while writing an email. Then this part came and I got hooked.

I've been listening to those few seconds over and over again and I just don't get tired of those harmonies.
Kind of like the piano entry of The Who - Teenage Wasteland / Baba O Reily, but with one more chord, longer and in a completely different genre/speed.

Edit:
Got an answer from the creator of the video.
@schlafanzyk It's a song : Ghosts & Stuff by Deadmau5
Exactly, what I was looking for. Found it on iTunes: Deadmau5 - Ghosts N Stuff

I don't, I just had it running by accident and liked this one part a lot. The rest is mostly crap.

I'm a fan of melodies, not genres. The reason I listen to Rock music most of the time is because it usually has the melodies that I like and also the kind of rhythm, lyrics and energy that I like them to be wrapped in.
No need to be narrow-minded because of that and ignore all other genres.

I barely listen to anything but Sum 41 and I almost never listen to another genre than rock.. there are just a few non-rock songs that I like

I was like that, too. But after years of pretty much only listening to Sum 41 all the time, I realized they don't release new albums often enough to satisfy my need for music. Also, I wanted to be more creative myself and being open for other types of music really benefits that. It also makes me appreciate listening to Sum 41 again a lot more and you learn a lot about music. I listen to everything that I like across all genres. So far the only exceptions, where I never liked anything: Gangsta Rap and Techno (sadly two of the most popular kinds of music in Germany).

It's kind of like it is with food: I love pizza. I feel like I could eat nothing but pastry with tomato and cheese every day. But I need something different every once in a while to be able to keep enjoying it.

I guess it's the same reason why people cheat on their girlfriends/wifes, which is why I think the whole idea of marriage is stupid and a terrible lie.

That's exactly how I did it, but with Blink-182, Green Day and The Offspring as a "break". If you enjoy it, keep listening, nothing wrong there. Just don't make yourself completely unavailable for whatever else is out there.

Revisit this topic in 6 years, you might go "What the fuck was I thinking" :winkwink:

Btw. I just bought the song on iTunes and it's actually a complete song and exactly what I was looking/hoping for. 1€ for a kick-ass song that makes me want to dance :hehe:
I'd have paid 10-times the price. I love it, can only recommend it to everyone.

Edit: Just found the whole single and bought it as well.
