Part of EU Tour cancelled!

Important Update
It’s unfortunate to say but we are forced to postpone some upcoming European Tour dates. Stevo was in a minor accident yesterday and is unable to get on a airplane to fly to Europe to perform. Anyone who knows our band, knows that touring is our life and is the primary reason we play music. We are completely and utterly bummed out and we all wish Stevo a speedy recovery.

We want to sincerely apologize to our fans in the cities we can’t make it to and we promise to return to them in a few months. We will reschedule any dates that we unfortunately had to cancel in Europe asap.

See you all soon.

The Sums

Fuck my luck, if this means the Czech shows won't be played. Last time it was the volcano ash, and now this.

I'm hoping this will let Deryck some more time for finishing up the album.

I'M wondering too what is the accident that he was involved in?

That's what I thought first, that the whole tour was cancelled.
But in the message they're saying only "some shows".

Well, I guess we just have to wait for a more accurate info.

About the reason behind this, could it be coincidence that they were planning to cancel the tour because of album progress, then suddenly Stevo's having an accident?
I don't know what I'm trying to say, but I know some fans would be pissed if the tour was cancelled because the band couldn't stay on schedule with the album. Stevo's accident is an acceptable reason though.
So maybe they didn't want to get the fans pissed?

Just saying. Then again, like Heather said, I doubt they would (at least I hope they wouldn't) lie about Stevo being in an accident.

It's the label, I'd say. And besides, if this was you, wouldn't you want to take the easy road, and just say your about to die, than have about over 3,000,000 fans bummed about the fact that Sum 41 should NEVER had planned this tour in the first place?

Still, i was soo looking forward to seeing Rock Am Ring on youtube. That might have been the biggest show of their career. : (

This makes sense.
I would so imagine the situation of the label saying "you need to cancel the tour, but don't mention the label as the reason, figure something else out."

Then again, I'm not mad at the guys, even if they have been forced to lie about this.
I'm just disappointed that this is already a second time in less than two months that I've bought the tickets and got excited for nothing.

I'm not sure about the reasoning behind canceling the tour. I will check to see if steve is ok though.

I think they´re not lying... steve hasn´t posted a single tweet since the 24th and he´s usually very active on twitter...

Fuck! that means I have to wait till the end of this year or so..
and i´m not getting the shitload of money back

Well, not finishing the album in time is quite shitty for the fans.

Than they shoudln't have confirmed the shows either, imo.

I personally also think the album could have been done by now, but due some other *hmm* factors, they didn't and they just bummed thousands of fans.

I feel sorry for the ones who bought a ticket.
