Sum 41 on Late Night TV Shows

I didn't know they were on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, I always thought this was just another Letterman dupe.
I have seen the Letterman performances of Still Waiting, Little Know It All and Pieces, but this one is new to me. I enjoyed watching Letterman the moment I got into watching stuff in english instead of German, but Ferguson is my recent favorite because he is such a great personality, while Letterman can be a real dick sometimes although that is still also entertaining (especially when Paris Hilton is the guest, haha).

I wish they would go back there instead of silly Leno (seriously, okay he is a nice guy and knows a shitload about cars .. but his show is really not that good) and Kimmel (yeah he's funny but it's just too much hollywood hovering around there).

Yeah, I think I saw this video just recently when I was looking for videos for the tribute. They also played Pieces on Ellen DeGeneres, which I thought was kind of weird. But then again, it was Pieces.

I don't think they did a lot of late night television performances during the Underclass Hero era. Just Leno (Walking Disaster) and Kimmel (With Me).

That is exactly my point, I think all Underclass Hero singles would've been perfect for Ferguson or Letterman. I think during his interview with Avril, Ferguson asked her about Deryck and his band and she mentioned that they have a new album coming out soon and then he said joking, cutting her off a bit: "Yeah... they can come here and promote themselves."
Seemed kind of like a hidden indirect invitation to me.

Yeah, that's the one I was talking about, thanks. "Do you sit around and jam - I believe the kids call it.." hahaha
You can really tell what a good character Ferguson is in that interview. I love how he even asks her if she's comfortable with talking about her music. So nice and thoughtful. Also the thing about the agents.

I wish they would perform there again and he would interview Deryck about the Congo experience and his life as a musician in general, because he is so different from all those pretending showbiz people and I think Deryck would feel comfortable around him.

Try editing your first post:
Inbetween the YouTube-tags, remove everything except the video ID, which is the letters and numbers after .../watch?v= right up to &feature... (in this case k9fSjX5qpWo) and it should work.

I'm not sure if I have seen that one before, but thanks for posting it, because I love it. Especially the ending of Slipping Away is a nice touch.

Thanks, haven't seen the first one until today. The other one I knew though.

Btw. I think it's funny how Ferguson pronounces "Pieces" like "feces" but with a P, kind of like PCs.

Interesting, I don't like that at all. He is basically just singing the backing vocals all the way through the song. I miss the melody of the regular vocals.

yeah I like Ferguson the best out of the late nighters. That Av interview is probably the best from all her 2007s. And UH would have been great for those type shows, maybe a stripped down with me, or so long goodbye.

I love pieces with the piano and when I saw it on Carson I really loved it, for some reason it just sounds more emotional, to me at least

We had a thread about the Pieces performance not long ago.

Like I said there.

But even if doing so, he did a great job! I love the way he's singing here.

Exactly what I thought when I heard it. You can feel his voice is kind of numb or rigid. Must have been around the time when they had to cancel shows due to the trouble he had with his vocal chords.

So Long Goodbye would have been so cool! I don't really enjoy listening to the studio version because it sounds way too perfect with all the tuning correction and shit.

yeah I like listening to acoustic version of So Long Goodbye...but to the one that was out before the record...not the album acoustic version ...and I agree that they should try it live .
