From the Groezrock-festival.

Few questions about the new album, same questions and answers as all of the others.

Though Stevo claims (once more) that the record will be released (early) August!

How did the recording process go? Was it different from your earlier releases?
Stevo wrote: ‘Recording… We had a producer, you know. We started with the drums, and you know.. It didn’t work out, so we moved on. Now we’ve finished the record without him and it’s all good, everything is great! And (pauzes) It’s been a good process. I think this is our best record, so I’m really excited.’
Whoa, I kinda figured that out but still, whoa.

Yeah, they never said they got rid of Gil. They said they were excited about him and he had some good visions, so even though he wasn't in the studio updates, I thought he was still someway in the background.

I kinda found it strange we never saw him in the studio updates.

He was there during the pre-pro but not that much at all.

Maybe that's why this Ryan-guy showed up. Not really to replace Gil, but help Deryck out. Ryan was doing great imo.

Somehow i'm scared of that. I fear this is going to be overproduced just like UH.

Deryck is a musical genius and almost everything he touches turns into a masterpiece so i'm not worried at all

What. The. Fuck.

It pisses me off that they'd just kick Gil in the nut's like that. This guy almost MADE The Foo Fighters, and Sum 41 doesn't even want him around? What was the problem anyway?

Damn! I was really hoping Gil would produce. I found it weird when in one of the Studio Updates, Deryck's friend John Asher says something like, "Now I gotta go back in there and produce."

There was probably creative differences between Deryck and Gil because no one else really seems to be able to see eye to eye with Deryck besides Deryck.

I'm kind of... disappointed now actually. And the fact that they just come out out saying... "Oh yeah, we fired our old producer a long time ago!" and didn't even let us know pisses me off. Lord have mercy, I'm worried now. :suicide:

Well, let's think it as a good thing. Some bands realize that the record didn't turn out like they wanted when it's finished, then they fire their producer and start re-recording and album will be delayed.

Tell that to the Foo Fighters.
