We're a bit late on this one, but it's alright, we can still have fun here.

Here are the results of the first round of the quarter finals:

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

# 1 Olympic Lyonnais (France) 3 FC Girondins de Bordeaux (France) 1
# 2 Bayern Munchen (Germany) 2 Manchester United (England) 1

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

#1 Arsenal (England) 2 FC Barcelona (Spain) 2
#2 Internazionale (Italy) 1 PFC CSKA Moskva (Russia) 0

What a crazy round it was!
It's crazy how i was so happy on Tuesday, then disappointed on Wednesday, Man United was absolute shit on the second half, and logically lost the game to Munchen, whom were better physically and Technically, Fergusson, in my opinion, thumped himself by taking out Park and Nani, Giggs sucks major balls, he kept running around the field until the Germans pulled a 99 and scored in the added time, that was FTW!

On the other hand, yesterday, the whole world (except for Inter and CSK Moscow fans lol) watched Barcelona literally RAPING Arsenal in Emirates Stadium! Both teams known for their offensive play, the game was expected to be THE game of the season, and it certainly was! the first half ended with a negative draw, 70% ball possession to Barcelona, loads of wasted opportunities for the Catalans, and a gameplay that amused everyone.
20 seconds into the second half, Ibrahimovic scored the first goal for barcelona, and he later added another one, declaring the full control of the guests, Messi was a shadow to himself, he did play a technic role, but that wasn't even close to his known level, he disappointed everyone.
The entrance of Walcott, gave Arsenal a boost on the right side, and he quickly managed to score the first goal under the eyes of Fabio Capello, who was there watching, that goal turned the game around, and confused Barcelona, whom team captain Puyol was sent off, after ...well i dunno if he did anything, that didn't seem like a penalty nor a red card at all..anyways Cesc Fabregas made a goal out of it, and the game ended at 2-2.

I agree with most of what you say here, except that Giggs obviously doesnt suck balls! Although he was fairly crap last night. I think Park was fairly ineffectual out wide, I'd have preferred him in the centre and started with Nani wide left and Valencia wide right. Dire performance :(

I saw the second half last night and I can only conclude that Diaby is without a doubt the worst football player ever. How did he ever get picked to play a game of football for any team? The mind boggles!!

I'm stilling hoping for a Barcelona v United final, although I've heard Lyon are ridiculously strong this year so they could be tough if United manage to overcome Munich on Wednesday and Bordeaux don't pull off a miracle.

I couldn't watch the game or any highlights and everything because I was at this club where Guthrie Govan and Kiko Loureiro had a clinic which was awsome btw. If I hadn't I would have defenitely watched the match.

It's too bad I couldn't after what happened between Barca and Arsenal. Obviously everyone including myself (even though I am an Arsenal fan) thought Barca was going to rape Arsenal. I mean Arsenal is a good team but with all their jung, skilled yet unexperianced players they never could be a match to any really good teams such as Barca.

I watched Bayern-Manchester Utd. on tuesday and puting my money(figuratively) on Manchester got me a bit disappointed. Like you've said they sucked the second half and the changes made were absolutely out of place.
Nevertheless it was a good game. Franck Ribéry played really well and who know what could have happened if Arjen Robben would not have been benched. The last goal was awsome and may make some difference for the game to come.

You can put your money on Barça tonight.
And i think it's gonna be a Barça - Munich final this year.

Results of the first round of the quarter finals:

Tuesday, April 06th, 2010

CSK Moskova (Russia) 0 Internazionale (Italy) 1

Fc Barcelona 4 Arsenal 1

Basically, no surprises took place on Tuesday, Inter won a difficult game in Moscow, without putting a show on, the russians had like 3243643321 opportunities to score, but the n00bs missed every time, and luck is still on mourinho's side.

In Camp Nu, Barcelona and Arsenal put on one of the best games this season, god i wish that was a final, Bendtner scored first for Arsenal, and i bet he wishes he didn't, because Messi was on fire last night! He scored 4 goals, FOUR GOALS! No one has ever done that in the advanced rounds of the Champions League before, so it's a new record for the legend.

Today, Manchester United receives Bayern Munich, and Bordeaux receives Lyon.

No one is posting in this thread anymore, that makes me sad!

Wednesday, April 07th, 2010

Bordeaux (France) 1 Olympic Lyon 0

Manchester United 3 Bayern Munich 2

Ironically, yesterday's losers, made it to the next round! Bordeaux was MUCH better last night, and deserved the qualification, but Lyon stayed in defense the entire time. Needing 2 goals to go further, Bordeaux pushed hard and played by their own rules, until Chamakh (who signed for Arsenal, and will join them next season) managed to score for the home team, but the wankers stayed in defense the whole time, and the game ended 1-0 to Bordeaux, but Lyon made it through (3-1 to Lyon last Tuesday.)

In Old Trafford, Manchester United received Bayern Munich with a HUGE surprise, the entrance of the injured Wayne Rooney, i swear to god i saw Muller and Badstuber with their jaws dropped when they saw Rooney in the warm up!
The united squad were monsters in the first 10 minutes, scoring two goals by Gibson and Nani, who shortly after that added a third goal for Manchester, everything was in control, and it seemed like the Germans are gonna get raped last night, until Olić scored the first goal for Munich declaring that there's still hope for his team.
In the second half, i thought for a second that i'm watching a different game! Munich was A LOT better, while United just sucked, it's the first time i saw 10 Man U players in the defense area! they sucked REALLY REALLY bad, and what made it worse, is that the n00b Rafael basically called for a red card, giving the Germans a clear advantage, until Arjen Ruben, scored a WONDERFUL goal, kicking out Manchester United from the Champions League from their own stadium.

Semi-Finals:

Internazionale (Italy) FC Barcelona (Spain)

Bayern Munich (Germany) Lyon (France)

Messi really is one of the best footballers ever. incredible.

relaly njoyed the Utd game too, I thought they were gonna cruise through after going 2 up so early. both Nani's goals were very well taken. but that Robben goal, wow, such a great technique. volleys like that really are hard to take.

it's a shame all the English clubs are out now, but I can't see anyone beating Barca is they carry on playing like that. the Inter/Barca games should be good though.

It's so ironic how Real Madrid had let go of Robben and Sneijder, both players scored the qualifying goals for their teams Bayern Munich, and Inter. While cunts like C.Ronaldo and Kaka, couldn't do shit, and let their team down.

Tomorrow : Real Madrid Vs Barça (20.00 GMT)
Make sure not to miss it, Bobby.

I'm hoping I'll be able to watch it. I'm seeing a mates band tomorrow night, though it's in a pub seperated into 2 rooms, so I'm hoping while the band is playing in one room they'll have the footy on in the other room! if not, I'll just have to Sky+ it and watch it on Sunday. should be a cracker though! I remember one of the games last season, 6-2 I think it finished to Barca, what a game that was!
