I'd say that has to be up there with the most difficult interviews that bint has ever conducted.
Why do Sum 41 seem to want the theme of this recording/album to be "Hey look at us, we can get drunk all the time!?"

What are you talking about? There not theming their album around getting drunk. That's just who they are, they always done that. It's nothing new.

Well UH wasn't that much drinking. But hey let's forget they ever made UH. It wasn't that good anyway.

I don't know, but I get the point of fergal.
It's really weird, a lot of their twitter-posts are about drinking as well and this while vocals aren't even done yet.
Why aren't they done? Because Deryck damaged his voice while singing.
How come? Well... Drinking and partying all of the time aren't that good for your voice.

How do we actually know that vocals aren't done? Just because they aren't being video recorded doesn't mean they're not being done.

Yeah, Deryck does them quietly at his home studio or whatever.. he could nail them all in like 2 days if his voice is alright so he could be done with the vocals, he's just not filming it.

Lot's of drinking was done while recording UH.
But yeah, it's became a job in the past. Everyone around the band is trying their best to not make it a job anymore. Job's aren't fun, I'd imagine.

Well, IF his voice is okay, but it's not. That's why he had to take a break.
Right now on tour, there's a lot of drinking, but no recording involved.

Well not the actual material of the album obviously, it's just bands on major labels have strict codes of behaviour by which to market themselves. The last disk Sums were like "We've matured, gotten married, become better musicians etc." and now literally all they talk about apart from the music is boozing it up and getting wasted. I know they've always drank but it hasnt been this prevalent since the press were trying to portray them as the new Motley Crue back in '02. I just find it a bit quizzical that it's come after they said all that not three years ago.

Yeah, i totally agree. And I kinda wanna agree that there's a theme to each album. A theme in which, what kinda of Sum 41 we'll see.
Kinda leaves a weird taste in your mouth. I watched a interview a couple hours ago from the UH era. It was nothing like this. Fact is, it's hard to believe what Sum 41 REALLY is.
Pwnt.
