thx for the link, I'm getting pretty much used to ubuntu now and it already feels ALOT better than any of those crappy windows os'.

I have both Windows and Ubuntu installed.
I dunno about you guys, but Ubuntu seems like absolute crap to me, if anything is better than Windows, it gotta be Mac.

Mac is probably the best. I'd pay shitloads to have it installed on my PC.

In all seriousness though. Ubuntu is the linux for n00bs. It designed to be easy for the basic "Desktop User". It's so easy that my Gran who's first computer used Windows 3.1.1 can use it without need any help.

Some other distros to try out are Fedora, OpenSUSE and Manadriva. I personally prefer the GNOME user interface though. I just don't like KDE or XFCE for some reason.

I don't understand how a post count can make someone a geek? That is by far one of the dumbest things that I have ever heard. Maybe if he knew how every line of every Star Trek episode and mastered how to manipulate the Window's registry then maybe I would agree with you but over a post count. Really!?!

to be honest, I only ever come on here when I'm at work to waste some time. I very, very rarely come on here outside of work. so yea, I'm a geek for having a life.

Yep, I've had it on VirtualBox, I think I'm one of the few people that think having the Window Controls on the left side is a good thing. I don't agree with the removing GIMP by default but it's understandable when thinking of the disk room and you can also just download it again from the software store.

I think that I done a Ubuntu 9.10 review on this site somewhere in the Tech section too. Also if your interesting in the release schedule.
