Wow, that was amazing. Deryck in this video kind of reminds me of one of my friends when he's drunk. I wish they'd have more of that sort of energy on stage nowadays. I liked how not every second word Deryck said was "fuckers" or "crazy motherfuckers."

Deryck slings his guitar so low that he has to crouch like that in order to play more complicated riffs properly without screwing up.

That show is awesome, from beginning to end, but thats maybe the best part(thats why I just uploaded that part). Have the whole show.

Yeah, I'm beginning to have a bit more respect for his guitar skills as well. He plays better than I do, anyway.

Well, i mean...
All he did was play "thunderstruck". Not that he's a bad guitarist, and his first solo sounded amazing, but still... Dave's a beast!

Oh, and LOL! "I did it all with one finger, this finger", haha.

Yeah, Dave will always be great and better than Deryck at guitar. Deryck doesn't aspire to be a shredding, thrashing, wanking guitar player, but he should use the skills he already has in the music he writes. Like, if you want to improve musically, don't go from emulating Battery by Metallica to using powerchords.

Good music doesn't mean riffs and solos all the time, but I don't understand the growth is in improving at something, reverting back and improving on something else.

Yeah he is a very decent guitar player, from the Metallica shows and all those stuff he plays in the studio updates, some really nice stuff there, better than just playing power chords, I guess he just ends up to write stuff easier for him to play live so he could focus on the singing and moving and the whole show so thats an issue. Cuz we know they won't do any complicated stuff that will be too much to play live.. you know while Deryck sings and all..

sometimes I wonder why he even bothers having his guitar with him live. he's not even playing his guitar half the time, it's just hanging there (almost every verse on every song) and if he cares so much more about being a front man, just do that. don't write easy parts just so you don't have to play hard stuff live.


oh and when he does actually play, it sounds like crap.....he's either struming so hard he hits wrong open strings, or not palm muting (listen to we're all to blame, anic from sake bombs, or grab the devil live)


but yes, he is a good guitar player when he tries, those update videos prove that.
