What an ass. Give the players some respect!
bear in mind it might've been a ntc by kotalik, thats why the trade wasnt going through
According to the sources, Kotalik gave it an OK, but Sutter backed up, since if he made the deal, the Flames' roster would've missed two players for the night's game. New guys wouldn't have made it to the game, and no call-ups wouldn't have been allowed by that time anymore.

So Sutter declined, said that the trade was just a rumour, let Jokinen and Prust play the game, and kicked them out immediately after the game. Just like OJ said, "a slap in the face".
lol tru
but still, LOL what a completely one sided trade. rangers dumped salaries and calgary is stuck with KOTALIK!

I don't know, Olli has been way underachieving this year, so its a bad deal on both parts really. I was reading on a hockey forum " It's like trading syphillis for gonnerhea, no one wins", I thought that was pretty funny.

Well, Jokinen isn't playing worth the 5 million he's getting, but he's still producing. Unlike Kotalik, who's been a healthy scratch for what, 8 games in a row?

This was a stealer for Rags. I hoped Sutter got his brains back yesterday for calling the trade off.
Why to bring in Hagman and Stajan, but let go Jokinen? And replace him with a healthy scratch and another underachiever?

What Bobby said.
Btw, Fabregas is leaving Arsenal to Barcelona in the summer, yay!

PS: i read the whole thread, and still don't get this trade shit.
Anyways, it's nice seeing our Finnish friends sharing the same passion as yanks in an incredibly pointless and boring to watch sport, now i can bash both yanks and Finnish.

Why can't the whole world just play Football, the real one, and just forget any other "sport" existed?

Okay, so you're saying hockey is boring to watch, but football isn't?
I mean, hockey game lasts 60 minutes, with the average of 6 goals in a game.
Football game lasts 90 minutes, with the average of 1 goal?
Afterall, goals are what we're looking for.

For me, I can't watch football. There are just too long periods inbetween possible scoring chances.
But playing football is fun, and I like it. But watching it, it has to be a World Cup final with a room full of friends if I'm asked to watch a game.

In what world is 11 goals in 56 games "still producing"? Jokinen just didn't fit in with Calgary being #2 to Iginla. He flourished in Florida where he was the only talent, but slid off in Phoenix and he will probably do the same in NY. Jokinen is a shooter, so he probably won't be paired with Gaborik, most likely he will be with Drury-a playmaker. But its still no guarantee he will produce. Kotalik and Higgins are second tier players and the Flames got them both for what they were paying Jokinen. Hagman and Stajan are solid players. They played very well on a shitty Leafs team and thats saying something. But I guess time will tell who made the right decision.

you don't need to have loads of goals to make a sport not boring. look at basketball, scoring every 2 seconds, yet I find it boring as crap. each to their own.

I am a big fan of all 6 canadian teams (hopefully it will be 7 soon)

The Leafs are my favourite team. And I am a litte bit optimistic about that was Brian Burke has been done!
Sure one can argue giving away Seguin was the biggest mistake, BUT if there was no Kessel I think we wouldn´t have captain Dion! Furthermore the Toronto Media(Star Sun) would have eaten this team without a 30 goal scorer.
Biggest Problem: Top Six LW

The Canadiens: Pfff Trading away Halak. Have fun with Scarey Price (no problem with the Habs btw) But this trade really pissed me on

The Flames. Sorry complete Bullshit. They have no future except Backlund.
Why does Sutter bring back Jokinen???

Ottawa: With Regin resigned and Gonchar I hope they can make the playoffs this year again

Edmonton: They have TOP Prospect Hall Svenson Eberle... IF they can sign Niemi it would be great!

Vancouver improved their defense. Hope Ballard can fix the 2nd Round Playoff Problem!
The dark armees then will come, when the Sum is 41!

What Toronto is missing is a top six forward. They need some one to set up Kessel and make his role easier. Kessel was brought in to score, which he can do, but a winger to set his up would be great.
I think their move to get Versteeg was a good trade. I liked Stalberg a lot, I liked his speed, but I would trade that for a young stanley cup winner any day! I can really see Bozak and Kulemin becoming future NHL stars to!
I think we're set on the back end. Our defensive future is looking really bright with Phaneuf, Gunnarssson, and Schenn. And our goalies are looking good to with Gustavsson and the prospect Jussi Rynnas.
So all in all I think I'm happy with the Leafs trades. The only thing that kinda makes me shake my head at Burke is getting rid of White. I think he was a solid d-man, and who could compete with that Stache! DAMN!

I don't think any Canadian team, except Vancouver, has any shot at winning the cup this year. I really don't view Price as an all star goalie, and with the defense Montreal has, they are really going to need something like that.

I look forward to this season. I think Detroit is going to be atop the West again, and I love the depth they have this year that wasn't present last season. I hope they bring Tatar up at some point. He is going to be a solid player.
And I know I said I needed space,

but I know I can't be comfortable in my own skin.

So when I say I'm scared to be alone, you know I mean it,

I'm just not ready to leave my room.
