Update from Deryck

Well it's been a while since my last update. And a lot has been happening over the past few months. Most importantly we've finally picked our producer for the new album. We've decided to work with the legendary Gil Norton!! Gil really gets the vision and direction of this new record and we're really excited to be working with him. About 20 or so songs are written. We've been in a rehearsal studio for the past few weeks and plan on recording this album over the next few months. I can't wait to get back out on the road and start playing these new songs. As far as the sound of the new record, it's always hard to explain something you're supposed to listen to but it's definitely a darker bigger sounding record than we've ever done. There's a lot of fast, heavy kind of stuff but there's also some really melodic interesting music as well. A bit of everything and it's pretty extreme. Not sure if that makes any sense or not... Ha ha.

That's a pretty good update, I like Gil Norton, he produced a few Foo Fighters and Feeder albums.

Yeah I like the Feeder albums that he produced, but I wonder how he handles heavier stuff.

Nice! Gil Norton is a wonderful choice for a producer for this record, IMO. He produced the two best Foo Fighters albums: The Colour and the Shape and Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace. Those two are great albums!
He also worked on SR-71's first album which was also pretty great, and even the last Pixies record. Even though I see him as a more alternative rock producer and all, but still as a great producer, I bet he can pull off exactly what has to be done on this record if Deryck plans it to be all this heavy and extreme. Its better than Deryck producing I guess.

I don't like SR-71 either. 'Man on the Moon'' is alright.

hey sums, i saw an interview on youtube w/ you guys from october 2009, and during the interview you (deryck) said the album's only half-written. does that mean we're gonna have to wait til like fall '10 before it finally comes out?

Nope. We are starting to do pre pro coming up in the next few weeks then recording early next year. So earlier then fall '10 at this point.

Sure that's Deryck? Deryck doesn't type with capitals after periods. But that doesn't matter
Glad they found a new manager! They're really progressing now. Can't wait for the new music, hope it's good.
