last.fm is good for discovering music
pandora is great for just listening to songs you already know

You can't really compare them, considering they are typically used for completely different things. Last.fm recommends you new music based on your current musical taste. The only use I've ever found for Pandora is when I'm at someone's house and don't have my computer or iPod.

I like Last.FM because it tallies the music I listen to. I don't care about the other features. It's the only reason I like last.fm.
