Well the reason only played like a ten million time every day on tv and radio. When you make a song AFTER they have, then there is reason to why one song and another sounding very alike can cause a lot fo trouble unlike Coldplay's The Scientist. Sum 41 was probably writing and producing Pieces before that song was released as a single making it a different situation.
