SUM 41 UPDATE
things are going very well with us right now. still writing and recording demos. we've got a bunch of great ideas and we're in the process of putting all these ideas into complete songs. the most important and exciting, but also somewhat time consuming, is trying to find a producer we think will fit this record perfectly. we have a long list of people that we're meeting and hope to finally pick someone soon. as soon as we do i'll let you all know. thanks deryck sum41

Haha, yeah. He's Deryck fuckin' Whibley!

Oh hell yeah! Thats some great news. I remember that when asked in AbosultePunk about then EP, he said he will produce the EP but i'm happy that now thats its an album they do want an outisde producer. I mean, it can only do good and Deryck probably took all the criticisizm that he's not a very good producer... so yeah, if they get some big producer, he could totally help them out. I mean, look what great job Brendan O'Brien did with the latest Billy Talent record and they all are also very happy about it and working with him. Thats cool.

They should get Mr Brett, he's one of the best producers of punk bands ever. If Jerry Finn would be alive i think they should get him but... well RIP.

There's an idea!
I think they want someone official so they can get a little bit more direction this time around.
Deryck doesen't want another Underclass Hero!

I think Deryck is very happy with how UH came out, I think he produced it how he wanted to and thats that.

This album is not UH so he probably wants to get some outside help, he's said before he isn't a big fan of producing anyways, but I do believe he is very good at it.

Yeah, it added a lot to the song. There were some nice basslines on All Killer.

Yeah, they should totally get Greig Nori back. That would be awesome.
Some other producers I think will fit could be Brendan O'Brien, I mean, he did a great job on the latest Billy Talent album, made it sound really different and aggressive, like the stuff he did with Rage Against the Machine, Soundgarden and Pearl Jam.
Rick Rubin could be a nice choice. I mean, he saved Metallica and he did some great Beastie Boys and Slayer records.
Mr Brett of Bad Religion could also be great especially cuz he's a pro with all this punk, he produced so many punk records.
John Feldmann of Goldfinger could also be a nice choice, he produced many punk and hardcore albums of bands like Escape the Fate, Story of the Year, Good Charlotte, The Used, Reel Big Fish, etc.
Some more generic but good choices in my opinion could be Eric Valentine, who produced The All-American Rejects, Lostprophets and Smash Mouth, and Don Gilmore who produced Good Charlotte, Linkin Park, Trust Company and Hollywood Undead.

Those sound to me like some good choices.
