Saw Billy Talent Last Night!

Post by Max »

Flew into Florida yesterday so I managed to see Billy Talent at the House of Blues in Orlando and they rocked! Today I also found out they're doing a UK/EU tour in October! :D You can get tickets on BillyTalent.com before they're released elsewhere I think. I wasn't sure how strict places are over here about videoing bands (even though they did search us when you come in, which never happens in the UK) but I managed to film one song anyways.

Video:

Sound is a little bit patchy in points but pretty good. Enjoy.

Did you stay around to watch Rise Against?
That was part of their tour with Rise Against and Rancid, right?
And what songs did Billy Talent play and was it a long set?

Sadly I didn't stay although I really did want to see Rise Against. Having flown in to Florida that day I was pretty tired!

Billy Talent played:

Devil In A Midnight Mass
This Suffering
Line & Sinker
Try Honesty
Fallen Leaves
Saint Veronica
Devil On My Shoulder
Red Flag

I think that's all of the songs, might have missed one though.

Well thats a nice set, but its too short... If I'm ever gonna see 'em live, I prefer it to be a headlining show. Like the one they played at Rock Am Ring this year, a solid 17 song rock solid set, with all of the hits and more. In this short set, its missing a lot, like Rusted from the Rain, Surrender, The Ex and This Is How It Goes.

both times I've seen Billy Talent so far have been midday festivals slots, so their sets have only been around 45 minutes. I'm glad I do finally get to see a headlining show of theirs in October now, at last!

Yeh, it's taken far too long for them to start doing their own shows!

Well, they actually headline tons of show since 2007. They pretty much had their own headlining tour in Europe in 2007, including headlining festival slots (Rock Am Ring 2007, etc.).
And yeah, this year, they headlined Rock Am Ring and some festivals again, but all the others date were just opening (like opening for Rise Against and Rancid). Damn, I wish I could just see 'em live!! ><

Well, thats good for you man. I wish I could see 'em live. I'm actually thinking about going to Germany or England in around October-November when they are doing their headlining European tour, just to see 'em.

make it a weeks holiday or something and you could probs see a few other decent gigs, I know there's quite a few decent tours coming up in October/November time here, and I'm sure alot of these bands are touring Germany and other parts of Europe around the same time too

Well, I would definitely want to see Rise Against too, and If I could so definitely Sum 41 too haha, but they are done for this year.
I would even come for a month holiday but its pretty expensive all this thing. I mean, I planned to go with friends for like a two-weeks eurotrip thingy in the summer now and visit places like England, Germany, Netherlands, etc. but we cancelled it cuz of money problems, but now i'm thinking about really coming there when all the good bands tour around Europe, thing is its expensive.

Yeah, so i've heard haha, so I now kinda planned a route around Germany to see Billy Talent, Green Day, Rise Against and Alexisonfire with Anti-Flag. It could've been actually better in the UK, but all Green Day shows at the UK are sold out already, plus i've to Germany twice already but never been in the UK and the UK tickets are cheaper than show tickets in Germany for both Billy Talent and Rise Against, but flight costs and shit will be probably more expensive.

Yeah definitely sounds good. And you live in England, so for you its like... well, you can even do it by car and stuff. It could be really great living there in the middle of Europe, makes it all easier and cheaper. Problem is i'm probably doing this trip on my own, cuz some of my mates go to the army now and those who have to go to the army like me in the winter don't really have money and I want to order the flights and concer tickets soon, and I'm not sure they'll get the money till then. I really don't want the shows to be sold out, like the GD shows in England. So I hope it won't be too boring going on this trip around Europe by myself, hopefully i'll meet some nice people to hang out with.

you can try and meet some people from here! and yea, me and my mates have driven to different parts of the UK for gigs, though we havn't liked "toured" and gone to loads of gigs in one week or something.

The Green Day gigs sold out pretty much straight away here I think, they usually do now.

I guess then to save money and stuff I'll do this trip of mine around Germany, to see Green Day as well and save costs, even though I saw now that BT tickets gone from 25 euros to 38 euros for a ticket, so I guess I need to hurry. I just hope to meet some nice people along the way, maybe even people who want to "tour" with me for the gigs I want to see.
