So... thats weird, isn't it? I mean, Deryck said Tom is official and all, and that he's an amazing player but the reason he wont be on the new album is because Deryck writes it all and likes playing and all? WTF, it wasn't like that with Dave! And thing is.... Deryck still said he wrote almost everything and Dave wrote nothing... that what Deryck said right? but still he always said he had to write stuff that Dave would like to play and all... and all of a sudden with Tom, Deryck says he wants to record and play all the stuff he writes and that its easier cuz its in his house... I mean, WTF man! Tom IS a great guitarist, so let him write or so... or invite to your house to play those leads together... Its gonna be way easier working on those stuff with 2 guitarists...
I mean, I was really excited to hear Tom doing some leads of his own on the new album... ya know, thats better than doing Deryck's leads all the time... I mean, we need some fresh meat in there.

Yeah well maybe on this album Deryck just wants to show that he really wrote all sum 41 stuff and he can write and play guitar stuff. And then Tom kicks in after this album.

Well, maybe, but Deryck saying that he likes playing all the stuff he's writing just made me angry... like... Steve is not living with him but he always comes around to record drums. Is Tom living in LA or still in Canada?

He spends most of his time in N.Y. or in Vancouver.
I'm just happy of that he's not on Sum 41 recordings. i like him more when he's with gob he's the shit there.

Yeah, thats also very true. He barely plays anything live, and he never plays the lead, even in UH stuff where he recorded all leads and stuff... so why would he like to do it all on the record, to just that he'll be cool like that, to show up how he's a good lead guitarist as Dave? Thats what he tried to do in UH , to prove he was the guitarist behind all the riffs and stuff all along, thats I think the reason they haven't looked for a replacement for Dave from the beggining.

i have a feeling that tom will quit the band two years after the new album comes out hahahah

Maybe it's because he arrived a little late...? Like when they already started working on the new album? Maybe next album he'll contribute.

Um, he's been with them since May 2007, which is not late for 2010 album imo.
The announcement for official member has not changed anything else than the appearance in photoshoots.
So he didn't "arrive again" this year, he's been with them all the time.

So that can't be the reason.

Yeah, I meant his being an official member, because I thought that as a touring guitarist, he had nothing to do with their work? But I guess you're right anyway.
