Review I did for the new brokeNCYDE album for PD. Enjoy.

I'm not a fan, and I hope to God that no other music-respecting human being is either. Never before in my life have I had to struggle so hard, to not only finish an album from start to finish, but to be objective about an album that doesn't even deserve to be called as such. From every aspect, brokeNCYDE's debut album is absolute trash. brokeNCYDE is possibly the most genre-confused band to ever be signed to a label, the album completely fails to decide whether they want to be hip-hop, pop, hardcore, post-hardcore, or screamo. The lack of structure in any of the songs on the album make it even harder to listen to. Now, I'm all for originality, but when originality meets three of the most unintelligent songmakers in music, you have one hell of a problem. I mean, any band that lists someone who does, "Lights!!!/Fog/DMX" as one of their band members has to have some sort of problem.
These boys are so incredibly phony that Holden Caulfield would roll over in his metaphorical grave if he ever came into contact with them. The first single on the album is "Freaxxx", which consists of the words, "let's get freaky now, let's get fucking freaky now" followed some sort of indecipherable scream from one of the worst screamers I have ever heard, the band's frontman, "Se7en", which, literally, is pronounced "sesevenen", but in the world of brokeNCYDE, is pronounced "seven". From seeing the way these guys act in interviews, as well as a live show, if any one of them has ever gotten, "freaky" in their life, I would cry.
One of the most obnoxious songs on the album is titled, "Sex Toys". With lyrics like, "you make my peepee hard", and, "you give me the heeby-jeeby's", this song makes you want to rip your ears out, crawl into a hole, and pray for silence. The next song, "Rockstar", features the repetitive lyrics of, "let's get retarded", I think it's just a little bit too late for that, boys. The last track on the album, is titled, "I'm Sorry", which would be fitting if it were a track apologizing to everyone who managed to make it through the 16 other tracks of filth, instead we get just one last song about how every band member just macks mad bitches on the daily. Word.
brokeNCYDE is a prime example of the kid in your 5th grade English class that thought his poem was amazing because every line rhymed, even though the poem made absolutely no sense. How this band managed to be signed by a relatively new label that has a desire to go somewhere is absolutely beyond comprehension. In a one sentence synopsis, this is an album that you can listen to once, if even that, and then delete off of your computer, and hope that you never have to listen to it again. brokeNCYDE's, "I'm Not a Fan, But the Kids Like It!" might very well be the worst album ever produced.
