The original idea for Screaming Bloody Murder (the song) was Tom's. Deryck changed some of the melodies and wrote the lyrics, and him and Tom kind of collaborated for the guitar solo.Nirvana41 wrote:On wikipedia (I know anyone can post there) it says that screaming bloody murder was written by brown tom and it was originally called Panic Attack for his band gob but it didn't make it so they remade it with Sum 41 playing. Does anyone know if this is true or not? Also it says "I eat big fat shit" is a downloadable only in Korea and Japan.

I eat big fat shit was a song that Dave wrote before he quit the band. When he left, he passed it on to Cone, who finished it off. Steve was originally supposed to do vocals on it, but it was shelved because Deryck thought there were enough songs for Underclass Hero at the time, and that I eat big fat shit didn't fit in with the theme of Confusion and Frustration in Modern Society. Right around the time they were putting the finishing touches to Screaming Bloody Murder, Deryck was jamming with Mark Spikulok and Greig Nori, but he threw them out of his house because one of them was getting into too much trouble and the other stole some change from Deryck's studio. After throwing them out, he noticed a disk sticking out from the pile and spun it in his mac. He heard the I eat big fat shit demo and tracked it there and then. They're not putting it on the album proper because Island won't let them put a title like that on the album. The lyrics are about the episode of Road To Ruin that Deryck's dad and Dave hosted. I'm stoked to hear it.
