They haven't had any real promotion over here really since DTLI, except with any tabloid articles related to Avril and the divorce or w/e (and thats just name dropping). With regards to UH, all I saw was a sign in my local HMV saying "Sum 41 - Underclass Hero Released Today!" or something along those lines. This country only loves them for Fat Lip and In Too Deep, exemplified by the Southampton gig I went to. Shame really.
yea, I know what you mean. so many people only seem to remember Sum 41 for Fat Lip & In Too Deep and that everything they've released since has been shit. I remember seeing some adverts in a couple of magazines when UH came out, but that's it. I can't even find SBM advertised as a new single on iTunes. you actually have to search it to find it.
The general responses are

"Sum 41? I thought they broke up"
"Wheres the black guy?"
"Oh yeah Fat Lip. I love that song!"

To many people they are seen as still a pop punk band. What people seem to forget (and this goes with alot of bands) is that people grow up. I'm positive this album will be the band's best work and will show them in a new light.
The problem with modern rock bands is that the more developed they become, the less successful they become in the mainstream. What I love about Sum 41 is that they don't give a flaming fuck.

I think if they keep doing it that way they might break some day and be " BIG " maybe .....

Your quote says "Simon wrote", even though it was Mitchell.

I think Matt's doing well making the vids.

Don't forget that their updates are only 2 or 3 behind, you see?

I just love the fact their so 'recent', you know.

I know, he is doing well for the circumstances (having lots of other things to do), but not compared to what a real videographer (like Dipple) could do. His editing is very amateurish, but that's an acceptable price to pay for the fact that they come in so quickly and regularily.

i'm a little annoyed islandrecords removed the album from its release calendar.

and the japanese sum 41 site has a tracklisting; the same as the one we know.

Yeah, you're right.

Anyway; Deryck said those weren't the right titles, so... Don't put your hopes on that one.

Dipple is on tour with Avril doing her "WTH TV" videos

lmao I feel like them speakin in German made it awkward, but cool interview anyway, I like how Deryck described how the album felt like another band made it since it was crafter over such a long time period. People really should stop bringing up Avril though, its kind of annoying

it seems like deryck truly just doesn't give a crap haha...."oh I just wrote down words as they came, I don't even know what the songs are about, whatever!"

He probably wrote the album in a drunk mood.. that explains why he doesn't remember writing it..

Gah I know, but thankfully I don't think it was in Deryck's sight since it was probably just green-screened in.

They were definitely in front of a green screen. Whenever the woman's left hand went too far outward, it would get cut off. That, and it just has that "we're doing this in front of a green screen" effect about it, haha.

haha I love Deryck's attitude in that interview
BRAVO...that magazine sucks donkey balls. I bet they don't even know one Sum41 song.
But great pic of D kissing Avril. Why not just put a pic of his wedding in there :suicide: what were they thinking
