very very generic. not just the lyrics but the actual song. nothing very unique i felt like i was listening to any other mainstream rock band with derycks voice thrown in. just very disappointing in my opinion.

After listening to this song 41 times, I have come to realize that it is generic, but it still possesses a small piece of the old Sum 41 (which wasn't really evident much on Underclass Hero, I found). Always is like the We're All to Blame of the Underclass Hero and post-Underclass Hero era. It's slow, fast, has vocal harmonies and piano. It's like all the Underclass Hero songs in one.

Since the song doesn't have any real riffs, it sounds generic. If the song consists mostly of powerchords, there's nothing to grab your attention.

But even so, I think this song is decent because the part after the intro until the part before the bridge, I felt some actual attitude that kind of reminded me of Over My Head for some reason. And the piano was an actual instrument in this song instead of "something to fill out the music" like most songs on Underclass Hero.

There is psychology behind the reason you like their songs... but... for the purposes here, "I just like them" is a perfect explanation. :-D

Very true, but a song doesn't need riffs to be unique. Honestly, I find this less unique than UH.

Damn, I actually liked it very much!
I mean, maybe its really is the magic of listening to a new song, like the first time I listened to Walking Disaster and UH, and the whole UH seemed to me fuckin' amazing the first listen, but then again, I don't care if the magic will be over soon and it'll sound to me pretty decent like for example, March of the Dogs, which I really liked when it first came out, and now I don't really find it any better than most of the UH songs.

Anyway, I also can find an attitude in this song. I mean, it really does remind me kinda of the structure of We're All to Blame, and to be honest, if the new album will sound like this, It'll be great. The piano and acoustic guitar play a major role in making this song as unique and great and it is, and I don't find it generic at all, I find it actually unique among Sum 41 songs and its better than most UH songs, although it also somewhy reminds of Count Your Last Blessings which also goes from being fast/hard to slow (with just the piano), but this... its pretty epic, this song, and I can definitely sense some old influences in it.
Now I can't wait for the new b-side, if it'll be as epic as this, and the new upcoming album, which I hope that'll sound like this or better, in this direction! It actually sounds like a mix of the Infected-Chuck era songs and the UH era, which is great!

Not a bad song, gets better as it progresses. I dunno why but the ending reminds me of the ending of Handle this. It's def my favourate part fo the song though.

I really love it! During the first five seconds, I was unimpressed, and then I realized how cool the transition was. What an awesome song. Definitely worth the wait!

Hm. Listening to it now with this window of "reply" open...

So far...it's pretty generic as far as my ears can hear. The lyrics sound kinda schmoopy and lame (I like angry, crazy, hurt Deryck's lyrics a LOT better than in-love, totally-gay Deryck's lyrics).

The bridge or whatev, around 1:50 is really lame and boring. And too long of a musical part that lacks severely in actual music... I say no to musical breaks without solos or interesting music.

Same ol' Underclass Hero filler, in my personal opinion.

Yeah, I wasn't a fan of the lyrics either. I know Deryck and Avril are married, blah, blah, blah and that Deryck is allowed to write love songs.

But somewhere down the line, it's going to have to stop. Creatively, there is only so much you can write on songs about love, if you're still in love with the person. I think With Me and Best of Me probably had the least inspired lyrics in Underclass Hero.

The fast part is definitely the best part of the song.

I don't think a whole album can have the same type of lyrics, unless its a concept album and still...
Even UH wasn't all about the same even though it had the pretty similar With Me and Best of Me.
