yeah, and they also contribute to the lyrics, and they get the credit for that.
Dave is a different story cuz i mean, since he left, people were bitter about sum, and some haven't even realized Deryck wrote most of the solos and all.
Least fav. album

That's the only album I truly dislike...so maybe, it's not that I'm just a Dave fan - it's that I dislike Deryck?Hentaiman wrote: Deryck does the most in the writing and all, and sometimes UH felt like a Deryck solo project. Plus, he took over Cone's bass but i found that rude and... not fitting as a band.
Interesting haha

Honestly, I don't believe that for a second.Hentaiman wrote: Deryck wrote most of the solos and all.
But again, it's one band member's word against another...so really - someone's gotta be lying. We all get to choose who we believe.

And also, I'm not a moron, and don't think that just because I like a band they are the "best band in the world". That's ridiculous and ignorant - as I've never heard every band in the world.

I hate how some melodies are pretty much the same on two different songs at certain parts in the Underclass Hero album though.Phili wrote:The thing is, everyone in the band, including Dave, has said that all the melodies came from Deryck. And that's what makes the song.
I also don't think the majority of solos came from Deryck since he said himself that solos are wank. Dave even said on Much News that "all he wrote were solos." I'm sure Deryck wrote a couple and played a few on the recordings.
I do believe Deryck comes up with a big chunk of the music/melody since in previous recordings Stevo would play to an early scratch guitar version of the song and most likely based his drumming accordingly.
I think there was more of what I was going to say... but yeah, even though I do enjoy Underclass Hero, I still think, as a whole, it isn't as good as the albums before it.

Yeah, well, there's a some kind of theme when Stevo is on the cover. Like in DTLI, he was like a zombie or something, well, AKNF was quite random, and in HHOP he was wearing some unordinary outfit. But in UH, it's just Deryck spitting there. In fact, I don't know what I'm trying to say, but the cover in UH shouldn't be only about Deryck. Yeah, the lyrics are about him, but it's still a record made by a band. So i would've preferred something else as a cover, like the sacred heart or something.sumfan wrote:Just sayin, just coz he was on the cover doesnt meAn anything. Steve was on more.
kthxbi
lmao. a normal outfit??? he was in a tank with boxers and a squirt gun with a valcano behind him!!!!!TomiT14 wrote:Yeah, well, there's a some kind of theme when Stevo is on the cover. i like the cover of UH :D I think its the concept. UH is Derycks feelings ect. him spitting on the cover is a medaphor for him spitting it all out into the album. All his feelings and "Gutter Dreams".
I dont think it was a "solo project" from Deryck. but it is KINDA. He deserves an album mostly about him for leading Sum all these years and doing such awesome things and just being awesome.

well and yeah, that's what a solo project is, i agree he deserves this stuff, but UH feels so much like a solo project... that like... Deryck, just go on and do your solo project.sumfan wrote:lmao. a normal outfit??? he was in a tank with boxers and a squirt gun with a valcano behind him!!!!!TomiT14 wrote:Yeah, well, there's a some kind of theme when Stevo is on the cover. I mean, Deryck also can drum , and every guitarist can learn bass, so in the whole idea, Deryck can do a solo album where he could also do all the instruments, and that's how UH felt anyway.
Oh, and UH's cover is the first cover that actually features a band member and is serious.
I mean, Chuck was serious but wasn't featuring the sums, and AKNF, DTLI and HHOP were humorous.
HHOP's cover was a actually a parody on Megadeth's cover of "So Far, So Good... So What?!".
