Yeah that riff really sounds almost exactly the same as Mr. Amsterdam. Sorry Deryck I won't even say I think you ripped The Offspring, I'll say that you DID. But thanks Sum 41 for making Mr. Amsterdam one of my favorite songs.

Gtfo that's barely similar, not even close to a rip-off. You have to realize that it's almost impossible to come up with a riff that doesn't sound somewhat similar to something that has already been out there. Music doesn't come out of the blue, it comes from inspiration and influence. We all live in the same world and it is very common that people even have the exact same ideas unbeknownst to each other. I have experienced that myself and everyone who writes/composes music will experience that at some point.

Deryck was a fan of Gob before they toured together in 2001, so i think it's possible that he copied from Gob. As Machine Gun sounds more like 236. e broadway more than that Nirvana song just admit it..

Doesn't even matter if you're wrong because influences are always there, once they happened. If you grew up liking/listening to something a lot, you can't make music unaffected by that. You just stop noticing it the more you get into your own thing.
