YouTube suggested me this video. It''s an interview from early 2008. Nothing special, but damn, there's a HUGE difference in Deryck's appearance in interviews compared to this day. So talkative and open..

I very much prefer him this way than with the whole "wannabe rockstar" thing. Here he actually seems like a normal person instead of someone who's trying to show that their in a band and don't give a shit about anything. And if this was shot in early 2008 and he said they were ready to start up again, didn't they only tour for like four or five months in 2008 and then took a break again?

I prefer him this way too, I didn't worry about him at all back then, now it's like 'oh shit what's happened to him now?'

Amen to that. Although I still love the guy I think I liked him better back in the Underclass time. He was much more real and he looked way healthier. I kind of miss him.

Yeah, the "comeback" tour started in February, and they finished touring in June. Needless to say both the promoting and touring were big fails for UH.
I remember them saying they would tour the whole world for UH and visit places they've never been. Luckily they are standing behind their words, but only 4 years later.

Yeah, for this record they have been touring for over a year allready and the record wasn't even released two months ago.

I couldn't stand Deryck while he was being with Avril, it was so fucking sweet, punk rock prince and princess, it was so fucking gay and so fucking obvious that Avril will not last in their marriage, UH is a bad result of being with that attention ''beauty'' ... but still, some songs on the album are good, like Speak of the Devil, The Jester, Walking Disaster or Count Your Last Blessings, maybe Pull The Curtain ...

imo Deryck wanted to be more and more successful in the media back then, cause it would be cool to be as famous as Avril, but it didn't work out at all ... at least that's the impression I've been feeling from the whole UH era, I was happy for Deryck being happy, but ... it just wasn't right

agree, love the guy, but don't like the "rockstar" attitude in interviews and such, prefer clean cut UH style. Almost like he's trying too hard to be a rocker. I'd rather him just be the down to earth musician. He's still a sweet heart in person though, that hasn't changed. and since someone brought up Avril. both were the best they've been in my opinion during 04-08 when they were together.

as I said before, he just needs to talk to Iggy Pop, nobody knows how come that guy is still alive, but he's just unstoppable, and he was way crazier than Deryck, you can believe that ... some good advisory from Iggy and Deryck will learn to survive his whole life on drugs and alcohol

most of you judge him purely on those few photos
while I'll agree he doesn't look as good nowadays as he did back then and there probably isn't even one pic of him while he was with Avril where he looked unhappy, he is simply "back where he belongs" and "better off on his own"
you better accept that because she obviously won't come back so he will stay like this for some time now

that Deryck collapses on stage is of course something that should not happen and I doubt he want that to happen again
