well on a slightly different note... In really poor countries, some girls can't go to school when they get their period because they have no way to stop the mess. Very sad.

Our body's are made to reproduce. Our uterus lines with blood/other crap every month as our cycle winds up to ovulation - so that the egg, if fertilized, has something to stick to in there and to cushion it as the child grows. If a woman doesn't get pregnant, which happens most months, the body realizes it after ovulation and the lack of fertilized egg, and it evaquates the uterus - thus emptying the un-needed lining. EDIT: And seriously guys, it's not that messy. Maybe when you're younger and it's less predictable and you don't quite know exactly what you, individually, need to do a as a routine to...not let it be messy? haha. Once it's more regular, it's much less messy and difficult. And when you get older, also, you grow to realize (both girls AND guys) that it's not dirty, as it is so often described amoungst teenagers and it's really not even that gross. It's just an inconvenience, mostly. (and none of this is meant to be a "you're children, you don't get it! I'm cooler 'cause I'm older etc. etc" sorta deal. It's just the truth...and should be considered a good thing that it gets better/easier as you get older...and guys get much more understanding as well haha)

yeh they do come in handy for mischievous acts. i was staying at byron bay for schoolies with bunch of mates (all girls) when one afternoon the house full of guys behind us started waterbombing us. we didnt have any waterbombs to retaliate with so we grabbed all our tampons instead, soaked them in water and flung them over the fence. they fully freaked out when they realised what we were doing!
