By the time ATGS was released last year, Deryck said "Tom is as official member as a member can get".
Since then he's been in every band interview and in every photoshoot.
So why would they include his picture in an album artwork but wouldn't mention his name there?

But for some reason I was also of the understanding that the song Tom co-wrote with Deryck wouldn't be on the new album or that Tom was unsure whether or not it would be on the album.

Heather: haha, no worries. Can you give us some insight on the song you wrote for the Sum41 album?
Tom Thacker: deryck asked me about a year ago if i had any songs i would like to put on the upcoming sum41 release. we talked a bit about the direction the band was going musically and i put some ideas together and sent him the best one. he was stoked on it and recorded his version and it turned out great. we worked on a couple other ideas but by that time the album was basically full. i think the song turned out great. i'm stoked to work on new ideas in the future with deryck and the guys. i write songs all the time, this song was specifically written with sum 41 in mind

100% agree with Simon. In most of bands there's main songwriter, and it works. Deryck has been Sums songwriter since they started, 1996. Now you start criticizing him?

And I really doubt that other guys would write better songs than him. He let's Cone and Steve work on their parts and damn, if he doesn't like parts the guys come up with, he's allowed to say it out loud 'cause he wrote those songs. But it seems like Steve has 100% freedom from what I can see from updates. Still, we don't know even half of the truth so saying that Deryck is dictator is just stupid. And like Deryck once said, being in band is much more than just songwriting. Steve comes up with videos for example.

i like deryck, but he's kinda weird lately it seems.
the band sits sorta weird with me now cos i love the music but i liked it better with dave in it in the early early days. he made the band seem more like a bunch of douchebags just like we all are. they seem a bit high and mighty now

OMFG GUYZ SRSLY!!! The album has been out the whole time, it's just called "Soon" and we didn't look for that. So awesome!!
