I'm confused as to why he got brought in.

On an unrelated note, we're finally on track with the updates (Update #29 - Day 29).

I don't know why he's there, but Deryck's voice seemed fine, but this is probably because this was done like a week ago and they just put it up....

Yeah, these updates are probably from events that happened a week or so ago. Either way, he had to have fucked his voice up on either singing to hard or drinking. I find it hard to believe he could catch a cold or the like living in sunny California where the weather seems to always be awesome.

Yeah. The piano part wasn't that complicated, so I'm sure Deryck could've played it himself.
Also, I doubt Deryck would write something he can't play.

Cool update. So thats it... eh? But I guess they haven't done the vocals yet, they gonna record the vocals at Deryck's home studio or whatever, right? I guess thats only means they are finished with guitars and everything else, so I guess only vocals left.

Not really, He has quite a lot of them and it was quite fun and we all know that Deryck is a fan of Fenders

hmmm I'm going to guess there won't be much for great guitar parts then if deryck did it all......doesn't sound like he cares about anything but doing chords behind his vocals

From the updates It actually looks like there are some great guitar parts on the record, but still sucks that Tom is not playing on the record... he's awesome, he could totally contribute some stuff and nail some solos.

Well atleast we're gonna have Gob's new record and I think it's gonna be alot of better if there's only Deryck playing guitar parts on the new sum41 record.

I watched this update last night when I was drunk. I still find it weird and gross to think of someone literally jizzing on a fretboard, which is what first came to mind when I heard that metaphor.

After seeing Deryck toss the Les Paul, I can now truly believe he is the Underclass Hero. Going from the bottom to the top and rising so high as to get to the point where he can throw away guitars and that being okay since he owns like 50 others of the same model.

"Is it time for new strings?" "No, it's time to chuck it over a fuckin' cliff".

I thought it was awesome, really. Way to go out with a, "Bang". Though, if the record isn't done, i think the announcement should be changed.
