But to be honest, I like his current skumfuky look, haha.

I really liked that look too! He still looked young and fresh at that time(only a year ago)
He had that look in most of the studio updates.. I liked how it looked in update 4 where he plays the skumfuk part..
His hair also looked pretty awesome in the vid of the drum off in 2009 that Heather posted..

When you mention studio updates i instantly changed my mind.

He's probably gonna stick with his telecaster.. and I hope so, cause I really really really like it..
Les pauls are too heavy, SG's don't stay up.. and he hates PRS

Yeah, I think Deryck's going to stick with Telecasters. Like Mitchell said, there's reasons why he doesn't use Les Pauls or SG's that much anymore. There's exceptions to when he plays as a guest with Todd and his band or whatever, he'll use any guitar that's available.

There was an interview maybe a year or two ago where he said he likes his live set up the way it is and doesn't plan on changing it much in the future.

If anything he'd probably just change to a different Telecaster with the same pickup because I'm pretty sure almost all of his guitars since 2002 have used the JB in the bridge and nothing else. I only say this because I saw this SG:



If he were to change stage guitars now it would be because the other one is broken or he has donated to some place like Hard Rock.

I hope he sticks with his telecaster. But usually whenever theres a new album I've noticed some guitarists switch guitars to a different one when touring, but I don't think Deryck will do that.

I guess he might change to a different Telecaster somewhere along the way. After all these years, Ian D'sa of Billy Talent also changed his black Stratocaster with the red pickguard to a new white Strat hah, not much different except the color but I dunno about the details so It might have a different pick up or whatever, but still he changed for this Start only for the last tour in 2009, and before that he used he same black Strat since like 2003 or earlier.

he uses his Marshall modded head and a diezel herbert head trough Marshall cabinets

Nope, it's a Fender. The Fender has two pickups and the Squier has one.

That's okay. It's a lot of paying attention to detail. I customized a '72 Telecaster Deluxe to be like Deryck's so I know most of these details (thanks to help from others as well).

It's funny though, I still get people coming on my CaliforniaScum YouTube account telling me I should've just bought the $500 Whibley FENDER (Uh, what?).
