ok I've had a day to cool off a little.....and don't get me wrong, I'm still mad. but there's no use in being angry I guess, we'll get the album when we get the album, no sooner or later.

well I think the reason you and some others may feel that way is because we have heard about all this stuff from the guys "oh it's so much more intense, and dark. best ever! blah blah blah". and we still have NOTHING........not one song to listen to. and at this point, without anything but words to hype us up, it's hard to really care. at least that's where I'm at. although of course when a song comes out and stuff, then I'll be super crazy about it.

I don't know if I would laugh or cry if the next update video was like, "Yeah, we're almost done. Six songs recorded so far."

This is false, May 22nd is a Friday, most CD's are released a Tuesday or a Thursday.

Metallica's "Death Magnetic" was released on a friday. i had this exact same fucking argument with another person. there is no "rule" say that CDs HAVE to be released on a certain day of the week.

You know, it'd probably be easier if Sum 41 just released the songs onto iTunes or something and just said "screw it" to making a bunch of CDs and waiting a few months so they can be made and shipped out. It would probably save a lot of time. Then we could just wait for some sucker to buy the songs and upload them for our benefit.
But that's just me.

Since this album is said to sound like between DTLI & Chuck I actually like that their are taking their time making it, first of all they didnt even plan to make a new album, and second, Deryck is producing now it'll take some more time and UH took a while, some might not like the sounds in it, but who doesnt love DTLI & Chuck ;)

deryck should just fucking pay a real producer. i don't care if it's cheeper, it'll make the album sound better.

And a really good producer, like someone who has worked with bands such as Green Day, Blink 182 and The Offspring before, for example. The only one who comes to mind is Jerry Finn but this won't happen :(
So I guess they should just get a decent known rock producer. Hell, they should've taken Bill Stevenson and record in his Blasting Room in Colorado, he did a great job on NOFX and Useless ID albums!

Butch Vig, Bob Rock, Rick Rubin, Brendan O' Brian, any of those guys would be good.

Bob Rock killed Metallica although he did some cool job with bands before Metallica.
Rick Rubin would be cool. He kicks ass!

all they really need is any outside influence. someone fresh to analyze them and give them ideas.
