hey, it may not be over, Deryck said he's really into using the piano.

personally I like the piano, but I can see why not everyone does. But that does cut back on Cone's bass parts. Pull the Curtian and KOC were the "hardest" songs on the record, so you guys are wanting more of that kinda sound?

Personally, I liked the edge and attitude of songs like No Reason and Over My Head. If the band were to go back to writing heavier songs, I'm hoping that they'll be reminiscent of those songs.

I don't mind the piano, but Deryck used it a lot on Underclass Hero, so I'm hoping he takes it easy on the next record.

I liked Underclass Hero, it's not really that a bad album, ppl just like heavier stuff now days as I know i like some heavier stuff now days, well heavy rock, but pop-punk was my first love and still is.

Underclass Hero i get what ppl mean simular to fat lip, but then again, i think it's different in it's own right also, I would say it's more very simular riff in blink182 song "dumpweed".

UH kinda reminded me of the Sum 41 I discovered, as of All Killer, No Filler, but UH did sound different in it's own way, however I love all their stuff they've done.

The new record sounds like they're making a killer, love vid update #5 if that is bass line in it, sounds shit hot !

I dont mind the UH era at all, but everyone has their opinions. I loved UH when it came out, but i got bored of it much much faster than i did of the other albums (yes i lstened to some of them continuously for years, so i got bored of them.)

Me too. I liked the album a lot when it came out, but I got kinda bored with it pretty fast (faster than the other albums, that is). I just think the piano was too prominent. We need more fast songs!

Yeah, I listened the shit out of March of the Dogs when it came out around April or whenever it was. I did the same with a crap quality of Underclass Hero when it was released on some guy's Podcast? Anyway, I listened to that album for all of summer and half of fall and I was already getting tired of it.

I can't wait for these new songs that Deryck claims to be "balls to the walls" music. Try listening to music while you press your balls to the wall. It kind of hurts.

Haha!

I got tired of UH much faster than the other records too. Mainly because every song sounded almost the same to me.

And the thing I don't like about that is that the band did that on purpose!

Oh well. I'm much more excited for this new record coming up. I'm interested to see what Deryck can accomplish on guitar.

i can´t describe how excited i am for the new album to come out, according to the info we get it´s gotta be great, personally i like all of their albums in their own way, but i think on this one they´re going in the right direction by making heavier songs, but I`d also love if they did one or two slow songs, like on Chuck

i dont think the album was that bad tbh, il admit like everyone... not there best...

i think the thing that really let them down was there live performances... the guitars are really trebbly and bland... cones bass punches through more than the guitars distortion ffs...

they deffinatly need to sort out there sound... i think thats where dave came in... he really has the know-how on how to get the very best sound out of the amps... now hes gone... they seem abit lost with there tone... and tom... dont get me wrong hes a good guitarist but he doesnt give ANY energy what so ever... honestly watching him puts me to sleep... imo, they need a guitarist with the full package... great musican but a SHOWMAN! thats why we all love sum 41... there energy... there not just musicans... they really are showmen... well were anyway...

i duno i dont think il ever loose faith in them... theres no dout derycks lyrics are alot better but i think they still need to learn how to incorparate that without loosing the sure power they had be4,

theyve been saying the new album is alot heavyer.... so dont u mother fuckers go loosing faith in them just yet... i gotta a feeling the new album really is gona be one of the best yet!

long as they sort out there live sound...

i love the UCH era, i think its the best of sum41 so far... really punk-rock, and great lyrically... still even better to come though! :)

I actually thought it was more poppy and not as "punk-rock." It was okay lyrically though.

How do all the songs on Underclass Hero sound the same?

for example, King of Contradiction, With Me, March of the Dogs don't sound the same to me
that's a fourth of the album right there
