Besides, look at all the shit Sum 41 has pulled in the past... vandalism, ANIC, throwing hotdogs at people, shooting people on the street with water guns, stealing pizza, fire extinguishers...
A band with that kind of history probably won't start being nice to a band that they hated in the first place just because they were thanked on a couple of albums.

Sum 41 doesn't TRY to publicly insult Simple Plan, they just do publicly insult them.
When people ask them about Simple Plan, they are honest and say what they think, and it's pretty clear that, as they were friends before, that Sum 41 has a reason for their rudeness. Who knows that Simple Plan's actual reason for thanking Sum 41 on their albums is.
The fact is, they have backed off (Steve sticks with short mildly sarcastic statements and lets the crowd do the insult for him, "Simple Plan... I don't really have anything to... *audience boos*" "Well, Simple Plan's playing at Live 8 so maybe... *audience boos*" always the way it happens these days).
Someone must've REALLY fucked up because as soon as she started dating Deryck, Avril cut Simple Plan off. This woman is friends with PARIS HILTON, Deryck's ex, Sum 41's gotta have a good reason for their animosity towards Simple Plan.
Simple Plan, the older band (as in the members are all at least a year older than the members of Sum 41), is now throwing the punches and the lower blows. I can't remember what Pierre said exactly, but he said something EXTREMELY rude in reference to Sum 41 back in 2004/2005. They also were just tittering away during their video shoot, when Perez was going on and on about how full of shit Sum 41 was. Nodding too. Didn't TRY to slow him down. And there are other examples too but I just don't care enough about the band to look for it.

I saw Simple Plan play a show WITH Sum 41 in September 2005.
Well...SP played PART of a show...untill Pierre got beaned with a bottle and broke his nose...hahahaha...I mean...aweee...
Sum 41 was the opener........

I wish that were true. I really hate the Jonas Brothers... but at least they're kind of creative.
