Tokio Hotel and Panic at the disco :D
They sure are emo.
I mean, i dont like MCR but i would consider them more as post-hardcore, Tokio hotel for example is just plain gay pop rock in the good case, or just gay pop.

Tokio Hotel is just fag. But yeah, you're right, Panic is so emo. I still consider MCR the epitome of emo though.

They aren't, in fact, they made a joke when they had a concert a week ago here, they were asked what will they do on stage, they said that they will cut their wrists and bleed on stage.
Everyone's labeling everything emo these days, so i'm not suprised.

To me, Emo is a word with no meaning.
Everyone throws it around so much that it's lost all meaning. All the stupid fuckin' chavs just use the word to describe any trend that is different from them

Thank you very much.
Honestly, why do we bother getting so deep into these labels? I'm fine with genres for the reason that fully describing a band's sound in detail isn't practical in everyday conversation, but some people get
so insanely obsessed with what is and isn't "emo" that they start judging bands' sounds prematurely based on these ridiculous stereotypes of what an "emo" band sounds like. Either that, or they don't care about the music at all, and they just start shooting bands down because of the label they are classified under.
Furthermore, I think the accusation that it's "all emo bands' faults" that bands get made fun of for emotional lyrics is slightly absurd. My Chemical Romance can write whatever music they want, and it's not their fault that people act immature and can't accept the fact that things exist that fall outside their taste in music.
Plus, if we just stopped caring about "emo" labels and stuff, this whole issue would just go away completely, anyway.

I have to be honest, this thread is stupid.
MCR didn't ruin anything, they simply are just one of the bigger bands that have that name. Taking Back Sunday is another perfect example. They got huge off of Tell All Your Friends, and it was really a huge part of the rise of "emo" music. Cute Without The E was the perfect song for the emo movement at the time.
Also, what's wrong with "emo" music? Maybe the bigger bands, but bands like Northstar & Park are amazing, and they can both be considered emo.
BFMV is part of the emo movement. They're just a different form. Most rock music these days will be considered emo, and you have to deal with it. The band yells/screams, so they're definitely that type of music. I hate people that can't stand when a band is called emo. It's annoying. WHO THE FUCK CARES WHAT SOMEONE LABELS YOUR MUSIC!? Sum 41 is fucking emo, get used to it. You can't get away with a song like "Walking Disaster" and expect your band to be considered anything but emo.
If you ask me, it's better to be considered emo than not right now. It's just what the world is becoming. Plus, at my school, the "emo" kids are just as popular as anyone, unless they actually are pathetic & hang out with the crowd of losers & actually try to be an outcast.

Due to him asking that you should have ripped in to the intro to "I'm a Fake" by The Used or "Cute Without The E" by Taking Back Sunday.

Wow you really need to at least hear the Taking Back Sunday song. the Used isn't that good, but TBS is amazing. Look it up on Youtube, there's a video on there for it.
