We have many talented musicians though. A few well known include:
Shania Twain, Bryan Adams, Celine Dion, Alanis Morissette, Neil Young, Avril Lavigne, Rush, Nickelback, The Guess Who, The Tragically Hip, ect.
???

I know they're not very liked but I just thought I'd include them since they're well known. (Not a fan..)
I am a fan of nickelback. :-)
They suck badly at the four chords they know.

you mention Rancid and NoFX, but you don't mention Iggy and The Stooges,Ramones, Zero Boys, Dead Kennedys or Bad Brains ? I mean, Rancid and NoFX are good stuff, but what you're missing out is the best stuff

How the fuck is Avril Lavigne an artist? If so, than I just found out that I can play bass, drums, all the guitars that exist and + I can sing in 5 different voices

My grade 9 science teacher was friends with the singer of Nickelback growing up, so they always get free tickets to their shows. I don't hate the band as many people claim they do, but a lot of their songs do sound similar.

I'm just mentioning most well known performers from Canada. Like Avril or not, she's a musical artist.

Hmm, that's interesting. My brother said he partied with the guitarist or something when he lived in B.C. I mean, they're not THAT bad, but I don't like them much because their songs not only sound the same, but I don't like Chad's voice. I think people take their hate for them too far though.

There's this one photo of Nirvana where Kurt looks exactly like Chad. I've always mistaken it for a Nickelback photo.

I can understand why people hate Nickelback, but I personally don't. I have 3 of their albums and consider them an above-average band but nothing more.

their last two albums, minus that song "Burn it to The Ground" are pretty lame. but really, Burn it to the Ground is a pretty typical lame trailer-trash low-brow radio rock song. as is most of all nickelback, theory of a deadman, etc... bands' songs.

Useless ID
A very popular punk rock band. They've also been just signed to Fat Wreck Chords and are about to release their 7th album.
Betzefer
A very cool groove metal band in the vein of Pantera, that was signed to Roadrunner Records (respect!) and now to AFM Records in Germany.
Missing In Action
A very cool metalcore band.
Once in a Lifetime
A cool post-hardcore/electro-core band, similar to the style of Asking Alexandria, Attack Attack!, etc.
Orphaned Land
A very popular Israeli band that is active since 1991 and is signed to Century Media. They have released some ambitious concept albums fusing elements of heavy metal, folk music, oriental music, doom metal, death metal and more. Something really unique. Steven Wilson of Porcupine Tree produced their last album and also played keyboards on it.

I agree that she can be considered an artist, cause she writes some of her own stuff, but still, it is a very shitty art, and if she is in the category of the best of your country, then you just seem to lose to England, USA and Scotland, Ireland or Sweden or Israel here

It's not the best I think. I prefer NOFX and RANCID more. But I just did a little bit of the bands, I figured everyone really knew all of them anyway

I have to agree with this. Also, AC/DC is not a Scottish band as many people believe that.
