I apologize for my little rant :hehe: it just..... EWW pop-punk sounds like a gay thing. It sounds like a category Justin Bieber would be in.

honestly other than AKNF wich was pop punk non of sum 41s music is punk. deryks voice is a punky voice but thats bout it. they are ALT/rock or hardcore/rock (for albums like chuck and dose this look infected?)

I also agree they should be mostly considered as alternative rock, but you know, they take influences from here and there.. punk, pop, metal, hardcore, whatever. Alternative & Punk can also be true, even though they are not straight up old school punk like the Misfits, I think they can fall under the modern punk term along with bands such as Rise Against, Anti-Flag, Rancid, Billy Talent, etc.
