I don't mind the repetitive lyrics too much. This is by far my favorite out of the 3 ones currently out.

Here's the unedited lyrics if anyone wants them:
Spoiler: show
Walking after dark
In the New York City park
Your thoughts are so unholy
In the holiness of old
Onward Christian soldiers
Filled with jivin' mind control

The bull left on the dance floor
Ridin', runnin' red
The bullet that you asked for's
Killing you to death
Unless you...

Someone kill the DJ, shoot the fucking DJ
Someone kill the DJ, shoot the fucking DJ
Someone kill the DJ, shoot the fucking DJ
Voices in my head are saying,
"Shoot that fucker down."

We are the vultures
The dirtiest kind
They cut you once
In your heart and your mind

Walking after dark
In the New York City park
I'll pick apples left in the club
A pocket full of pills
Sodom and Gommorah
In the century of thrills

The bull left on the dance floor
Ridin', runnin' red
The bullet that you asked for's
Killing you to death
Unless you...

Someone kill the DJ, shoot the fucking DJ
Someone kill the DJ, shoot the fucking DJ
Someone kill the DJ, shoot the fucking DJ
Hold him under water
'til the mother fucker drowns

We are the vultures
The dirtiest kind
They'll cut you once
In your heart and your mind

Someone's gonna to get you boy
Shoot that fucker down

Someone kill the DJ, shoot the fucking DJ
Someone kill the DJ, shoot the fucking DJ
Someone kill the DJ, shoot the fucking DJ
(Walking after dark)
Shoot that fucker down

Someone kill the DJ, shoot the fucking DJ
Someone kill the DJ, shoot the fucking DJ
Someone kill the DJ, shoot the fucking DJ
Voices in my head are saying
"Shoot that fucker down"

What has happened to this band? This song is so boring. The "Oh Love" song was boring as shit, too. The explicit version is slightly less bland, but this band has lost it. They need to take a real break or something... Kill the DJ? Really?

Meh, so far I haven't been sold on ¡Uno! just yet, even though it sounds just like the music I was expecting from listening to those little YouTube previews. I like the feel of Kill the DJ, but there's something about it that just feels flat/lazy. As cliché as it may sound, these songs seem to lack an "oomph" to them. Although, I can picture myself to driving to Kill the DJ and probably singing along because there's something care-free about it.

Well, it's a lot better than Oh Love, but then again... it's kind of boring.. I dunno, it's like a whole different direction, it has this old school vibe to it, but it's nothing like the fun fast pop punk of Dookie, etc. I mean, I expected to hear some fast punk tunes, this is just... you know, it's slow, but still an improvement over Oh Love.

The trailer was great but so far these songs have been mediocre. It's way too early to say for sure, but it's beginning to seem like three albums may have been too much..

lol i don't think they put the same line three times in a row due to laziness.. I think its so repetitive to give it a dancefloor/trance type of feel to go alongside the dancefloor type drum beat.

The DJ song is like old Cobra Starship bullshit to me. Boring, lacks anything redeeming, dancy but not in a good way. Sucks to compare Green Day to Cobra Starship, lol.

One thing I think I should emphasise is that these albums ARE NOT going to be similar to the band's earlier work. Expect to see a lot more garage-rock type songs in the upcoming albums. If you've heard Nuclear Family, Stay the Night or It's Fuck Time, I think you'll get the kind of vibe we're going to be hearing.

Having said that, Dos! looks like it's going to be the best of the trilogy. I mean, just look at its lead single.

I hope these aren't as bad as I expect them to be. If you're a Green Day fan, then this is fucking awesome because it's three full albums worth of new material. If you're a huge fan, odds are you'll love anything no matter what. For me, when it comes to Green Day, it'll take another song like American Idiot to win me over again. Not necessarily a song that sounds anything like it, but just another song that grabs my attention like that song did. These bland singles aren't doing it for me.

First time listening to it yesterday and the first thing that came to my mind was Foxboro Hottubs. It's better than Oh Love, just like (mostly) everyone is saying. It's a lot catchier than Oh Love.

The band will be performing at the MTV Video Music Award's this year:

http://yhoo.it/QCeNsD

I guess out of the two songs we've heard from ¡Uno! so far, Oh Love would make more sense to be played since it is the first single. Although, I wish it could be Kill The DJ. Their performance at the 2009 VMA's was definately the highlight of the night for me so I hope this year's is just as good!
