why ???we all here know Sum 41,we all can't wait for the new album ...the reason why the label want to find the best date for releasing is that they want the album to get to the people who don't know anything about Sum 41...

Christmas!
God, I could be a producer. Tbh were all fans of sum 41 so only care about the music, not money. As the label are the opposite, it's hard to see things from their point of view in these situations. The band made a deal, and even if they don't want money, the label does. So tough tits.

:)

yeah but selling albums is not such a big money-maker for the bands ...performing live does ...

I should have put "lol" at the end of my post, it was intended to be funny, on a more serious note sum 41 should leave island records, they aren't being promoted well, I think. Sum 41 is to island records what reel big fish was to jive

They'll take their time, they're mainstream enough now that they'll just keep promoting and stalling.
That's what I think anyway.

The fact that they are one of the most popular bands at the warped tour kind shows that they are mainstream.

Hmm mainstream I don´t know.
They are going their way and they know what their hardcore fans want to hear :devious:
Sure one can argue if a band gets popular it is automatic mainstream but here in Germany Canadian Punk Rock is definetly NOT mainstream!

I like to think of it as, if a band releases a song and it's on the top downloads on iTunes, it's mainstream

I think of mainstream music as music released primarily to get into the mainstream, like pop and rap. That stuff makes me cringe. Nah, if a sum 41 song gets into the mainstream, I just think of it as an incredible success, as it's easy to get a bullshit pop song to chart, but real music? No, nobody wants that anymore. UH was the most mainstream sum 41 has ever been, and that was barely noticed outside the punk rock world.

its different in England, i quess they started out mainstream with All killer no filler where there 3 singles made top 40 and faded back out the limelight with each album.Underclass hero was the only video from that album that managed to get on any of the music channels and it did nothing chart wise.
