In my opinion when you compare the three pop-punk guitarists (Deryck, Tom DeLonge and Billie Joe) Deryck would have to be at the bottom of that list. And I say that based on these things:

"The Judge's Daughter" solo from 1039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours.
All of Blink-182's riffs and originality.
Deryck doesn't even consider himself a guitar player.

Yeah I watched a "Billie Joe's best solos" video on YouTube and there are some really great solos from that album. I just downloaded it last night because of that reason too. I like the solo from Dry Ice as well.

I guess I was just really surprised because I was always under the impression that Billie Joe could only play power-chords (even though he does) but he won my respect with the solos on that album.

Deryck and Matt Lavigne (Avrils brother) have been seen together just after the rumor came up.

Deryck has been out with Avril eysterday and posted a blog about the rumor. Take that.:)

Also, Matt is EXTREMELY protective of Avril. He would not have been hanging out with Deryck (especially smiling) if they had broken up.

And if the issue had been infidelity as the rumours suggested, the only way we would've seen pictures of them together is with Matt punching Deryck's lights out in the middle of the street.

Deryck looks tired and tipsy, but it just looks like he needs sleep (with Avril's clearly high energy level, I doubt he got any of that needed rest) and like he's been working hard.
