Ok I agree that UH isn't bad, but it isn't nearly their best musically, imo. The lyrics are really deep and works well with the music, but Chuck has deep lyrics too, and the music works AWESOME with the lyrics. I think that all of Sum 41's songs are great, but "With Me", "Dear Father", and "Best of Me" are some that I like the least overall;they have good lyrics though.

Welcome to punk.
i disagree. look at Anti-Flag and #2. he is a freak! Cone also (pre-UH) would play some rather challenging stuff.

i first reaction to the UH CD was "well, this is different." i like the harder songs, but for the most part, i skip this CD. i really don't like that Deryck pretty much came up with everything himself. he should have saved this CD for a side/solo project and gotten some creative input from Cone and Steve and made a better CD. the use of Piano was way overdone. before i thought all those breathy background vocals were cool, but now (after hearing them live) they aren't good.

i know that the guys keep saying that Tom is an amazing guitarist, so why not give him something challenging to play? something he could have fun with.

I don't like when people say Look At Me is the shittiest song on the album just because it's not your generic, catchy, bubble-gum pop, chew-it-up, spit-it-out song. The singing is a step away from Deryck's usual way of singing, the guitar is actually played a little bit in this song, rather than just powerchords and I find Deryck to sound like he has more emotion in this song rather than other songs you'd expect to be filled with emotion (ie. Dear Father, which I thought fell really short considering what it's supposed to be about). That being said, it's not like I'd listen to this song on repeat or anything. I'm just saying it's better than what most Underclass Hero-lovers give it credit for.

sure i can respect that .... btw UH wasn't my fav.
i like DTLI? & chuck more
but some times you have to accept the change to get a bitter
sure we won't forget that UH missed alot of things like dave
but for the next album i think they have learned from their mistakes
like deryck taking over the whole album
what i really think they need right now is a guitar player which is a real member of the band
i've nothin' against tom but come on there is alot of better guys than him.

More or less like me. I heard "It's what we're all about" when it was released as single for SPiderman movie and I like it, but I didn't pay attention to Sum 41 again until I heard Walking Disaster. Then I downloaded UH album and I liked it. After long time listening to it, my favorites are Count Your Last Blessings, March Of The Dogs, Pull The Curtain and Best Of Me. Well, I like almost every song, some more than others :silly:

But although I like the album globally, and somehow it's good they tried new things, I think it's not their best album, at all. Chuck and DTLI are better and All Killer No Filler more or less, perhaps a bit better. The only one I don't like very much is Half Hour Of Power.

If next album sounds more like DTLI or Chuck, I'll be happy, I like them and I think most of fans do so. And the guys are great on darker and harder stuff...

Underclass hero reminds me of AKNF in away
simple pop punk summer songs
only evolved and more in the .. emotion .. lyrics and tbh the producion, mixing and mastering was great

steve had some great drum parts ...Deryck got his some great drum sounds

I Back Deryck with the writing process i know how frustation it can be when you have a song idea in you head
and people try to change the dirrection of it

on the other side sum 41 and a band and they should put there heads together and write kick ass music

UH is brill for what it is (one of my faves)

IT is what it is stop complaining
people just like to moan if they made another chuck people would moan that its just the same and they havent deleloped

Dave left also because he wanted to do heavy stuff
others wanted to do more pop punk stuff
