i like it i like the auto wah and it sounds cool but turn ur stereo up and stuff so the bass isnt drowning out the song
This is by my bro squid
ok i will make this as constructive as possible, because although i admit that i don't like it, i can tell by movement with your left hand that your not a beginner.
Ok first, the auto wah effect is good for certain songs in the music world. Unfortunately, none of these songs come from Sum 41. So for a start, maybe ease back on it, especially because the picking becomes a bit more frequent and it sounds like tone trouble rather then auto wah
for a second (once again, i mean no offense) anyone can learn to play with a pick. Despite all your fav bands (possibly? i dont know that..) using picks, i would highly reckomend you learn using your fingers with a pluck method instead, i guarantee that after a short amount of time your skills will dramatically improve.
also, it sounds like theres not alot of dynamic when the picking because frequent. I know as a fact from listening to my brother play Sum 41 that things such as slides, hammer ons, pull offs and bends are used in the bass, despite tabs ignoring these dynamics. Although at first it may be hard to pick where they are, but have a real good listen and see if you can pick them, then your bass to others will be like "WOAH OMGZ LOOK HOW GOOD SHE IS" when really you may only be playing something rather simple.
apart from those, thumbs up (Y) because most people who play bass and like Sum 41 arn't too good (this is not an insult to those of you i havent seen play, this is just an observation from Kane's and my own friends, i'm sure somewhere out there, there are exceptions)
so yes. that is my constructive criticism rant.
thank you.
P.S (from kane)
do u guys see what i put up with??
5! paragraphs of bullshit lol
lol dude. It was just for fun. BTW, I know how to play with my fingers. I play in jazz band at my school- nothing but finger plucking there. When I first covered this, I used my fingers and sorry, but some songs sound better with a pick. AND I just played a gig tonight with a local legend. I was given 4 hrs to learn a song by ear and i pretty much got it exactly down. He told me i played the song- not jsut the notes. So, thanks, but this video was just for fun and those criticisms are pretty much void.
Sorry if I sound too defensive, but I know what I'm doing.

Nice! What I'd love to see is a cover of the bass part on Maxwell Murder by Rancid. It's the best bass part ever written with an amazing solo.

Finally got to watch this.

You're fucking AWESOME! That, because I'm not experienced with instruments, so I'd think anything is awesome, lol. But seriously, it was da shiz. I want bass so bad now

I didn't think the effects suited the song much, till I reached half of the video

Great job =]
