but does sum 41 really want him back???
this new album without the metal influence of brownsound was REVOLUTIONARY
do WE really want him back?
i really want him back but i dont want him to inflict his metal influence on the album

Well as he said, maybe the not enough metal wasn't really the reason he left the sums, or at least not the major reason, cuz as its seen now, the mainstream and record companies who try to get money over the backs of the poor bands are the thing that kinda made him leave the band and disappear off the scene into doing his own thing like producing and playing in a metal band (amazing one!) that only performs in Canada and only known around there . something small. no major labels taking money off his hard work.

Underclass hero was indeed good, but I'm not sure I'd like them as much if they carried on like it. Think, from AKNF they changed heavier, From DTLI they changed more heavier, and people loved it, and Underclass hero was like back to AKNF style kind of. People like it when they change their style. I want them to change again, DTLI style perhaps.
Dave will rejoin. I have faith in it :) (Toms voice sucks so much live)

Yeah, maybe he could rejoin and write more unless Deryck is gonna be like "I dunno if you could join, cuz we have new rules. for example, i don't let Cone write the bass for himself...". hahaha

Hahaha! That made me laugh just picturing it.
Anyways, I believe it was Sum 41 becoming too mainstream, the fact they were going back to a more pop-punk style that collectively made Dave want to quit the band. I don't think he's belittling Sum 41, because it's true, Sum 41 is making money for people who only care about money (Record Companies).
Why do you think Sum 41 stopped the touring? Ticket sales sucked! Their venues were downsized in a few Canadian shows they had to play I believe. There was no more momentum after Deryck hurt his back.
Sum 41 said they knew Dave was unhappy in the band, but does anyone know if they made an effort to resolve his unhappiness?
Anyways, I hope he comes back. The next record needs a riff.

I love Dave, but that's a bit unprofessional of him. It's good that he spoke his mind though.

Yes they did. During the making of Chuck, they asked him to come up with some metal-like riffs, because they knew he loved metal and Chuck had a kind of metal feel to it

So true. In Toronto, they were suppose to play in the Air Canada Center, then it magically switched to the Kool Haus, which is a huge change.
