Wow, I feel kind of empty inside, and not the good empty.
If I'm truely honest, the idea of them on stage together for me is totally (I can't beleive I'm saying it)...Gay!
Although I guess the only good think I can take from that is Deryck is somewhat bored of doing nothing and is using a guest spot of his wifes stage as an outlet to play some of his songs. Maybe if he got round to writting an new album a little sooner he could go on tour and spew molten creativity?

Well, it really felt kinda awkward to watch this, but i would like to see a full video, Adam, if thats possible (if the video you or your friend took is full or better quality).
Anyway, as long as Deryck is having fun i guess its okay, but he also looks weird. i mean, he came back to this red shirt and tie look (the look with the tie was used by him on the UH summer tour 07, but recently he kinda left out the tie) and it was very nostalgic to see his old HLDY telecaster, although i think the sig looks better, but it was good yet weird to see the old one.

btw, did Deryck play the solo? cuz on the second video where it has the solo they only show Avril and the second guitarist while the solo is played so i assume Deryck play it since the other guitarist play the chords.

OMFG, I don't think I could be any more angry then right now. I mean, it's great that you saw them live and everything but, what I just watched on youtube, that was the fucking funeral of sum 41 if they keep this up. Congratz deryck and avril, you are killing sum 41. I give you an A+.

Haha yeah, I kind of expected that reaction from a lot of people, but it's not only Deryck's fault that the guys aren't touring right now. I was a little let down to find out that there would be no tourdates this summer too, though. I also think that the main reason he played in Toronto and Sudbury with Avril is because both Avril and Deryck's families were at the shows, and it's their home crowd. I have a much different perspective though, so I understand haha.

Steve Fekete, Avril's new lead guitarist (he joined at the beginning of March) played the solo for "In Too Deep". I got so nervous when the solo was approaching, because I totally thought that he'd mess it up, assuming Deryck didn't play it, but he did a really good job. I was impressed. Deryck looked impressed too.

My friend didn't upload her video yet though, but hopefully she will soon, we had the best view, but all you can hear is me saying "Fuck Yeah" the whole time, probably.

Also (for the Avryck fans) Deryck gave Avril a huge hug when she walked off stage after Sk8er Boi and walked her back to their suite, because Avril's head of security told me that they were having a private family gathering after. It still didn't stop Avril for signing some stuff for a few of my friends who traveled from Scotland for the concert, so that was pretty sweet.

I don't think this qualifies as Deryck selling out though...lol a bit drastic

jeez. i know a lot of the people here don't like avril, but some of you are sounding like you're mad at deryck.

anyways, i'm a huge avril fan and think this is so cool that i've been squealing all day. but i do wish the sums would get back on tour, and SOON.

Since Deryck is using his Tele HH, do you think he's planning on becoming more of a guitarist now? Might be a long shot, but back when Deryck used that guitar he played the lead to Grab the Devil and the first half of The Hell Song's solo and used that guitar when Sum 41 covered Metallica songs.

When he started using the '72 Deluxe, he played less (as proven by the Go Chuck Yourself Sympatico videos and Underclass Hero).

i think it was cheesy but not selling out. plus they looked like they were having a great time on stage together. as long as they don't sing together at each others shows often im fine with it.

Its just like if anyone else collaborated with avril except it happens to be Deryck, which makes it awesomer. he didn't do it to try to promote his own music off his wife, if he did that i'm sure he'd of played Underclass Hero or a track of the album. I'm sure he did it to give the fans a treat, because of the short touring of UH maybe, or something like that.
