How can you say that a band all over MTV is underrated?
Sum 41 & Breaking Benjamin are two bands that are easilly overrated. Breaking Benjamin especially... they have such a generic sound and you can tell from the minute it hits the radio that it's a song by them. Sum 41 is just like that, minus the genericness. They aren't overrated, but they are by no means underrated. I don't know if people said that as a joke, but it's so not true... just look at how many people are on this forum alone.

Underrated bands = Park, Northstar, Cassino, The Junior Varsity, Straylight Run, Manchester Orchestra, Kevin Devine, Dead Poetic, and Cursive... with Park, Northstar, Cassino, and Cursive heading the list.

I bet most people have never heard of Park in there life. Park is probably the best band that has gone undiscovered. I posted two albums by them in the multimedia section on both this website and PD. This site got like 5 views, the other got like 10-20 when I reuploaded it.

By generic I meant that they go out there with the same sound on every song and get hits out of it. They're kind of like Three Days Grace in that aspect. They have the same song with different lyrics and a different power chord everytime. They're not a bad band by any means... but they're just really annoying in a sense that they can't be all that creative. They do sound like most bands in the hard rock/ metal/ whatever genre you put them in of today. Three Days Grace, Staind, Creed all have the same type of touch that Breaking Benjamin has. They're not necessarely the same sound, but they're the same type of artists that get away with that type of generic crap that Breaking Benjamin gets away with. Three Days Grace is the real generic band in all of that.
