If Ian joined Sum 41, I would actually cry because that would mean the end of Billy Talent. Those guys are way too tight to last after the departure of a member.

yea ian would be the best replacement for dave, but i dont want billy talent to end.

i think tom would be a great replacement, he just needs to use a different guitar. that is what is holding his sound back, deryck bought him that guitar because it was vintage or something but it has terrible sound for concert.

Gob really isnt going anywhere anytime soon anyways so its not like hes missing out on something.

Tom is actuly one of the nicest guys ive met. Saw them twice on the u.k tour, first itme he just walked past me and msome other peeps i was with and we were all like, wait was that him?? second time i managed to catch him and have a chat/photos balh blah and hes sound as fuck.

I cant see him becoming full time though. And Gob are prety infamous so i doubt he would want too, but all cool if he dose though

I check the Sum 41 wikipedia page almost everyday just to read up on them (I'm weird like that) and I noticed they added Tom Thacker as a member of Sum 41. I know somebody might've just done that because he's been touring with them, but who know's I think he joined the band!

no. they can't add new band members. they said that in sum interview i read. wikepedia is a bad source.
and if someone found out that a new member was added to sum 41 it would be all over the place, not just in wikipedia.
i think somebody is just trying to make a stupid rumer

Ohh and I don't think the backing vocals would be that bad, cause if they can make him sound OK in Gob, then I'm sure Sum 41 could make him sound 10x as good.

I somehow doubt that. I think they wanted a touring guitarist so that if Dave wanted to return, it would be easier to "kick the new guy out".

^No, Shibby's got a point. It's way easier to fire a touring guitarist than kick out a new one if the old, more desirable guitarist returns.

Tom and Deryck's Voice sound amazing together... like tom's backing vocals on "motivation" whenever he was with the sums... simply amazing...

I kinda like Tom as a touring guitarist but I wouldn't want him to be an official member.

I think the guy's alright, he fills in just fine what's needed as tour guitarist, dunno if i wud like him to become an official member, but actually am no bothered if he does, the guy's rather cool i think !

still aah can't wait for the new EP, Sum 41 4eva !
