If you're actually worried about losing your hearing - you should start taking precautions now.
Like, turn the volume down a couple notches...then when you get used to that, a couple more...etc. etc.
And ear plugs for drum playing and concerts are always a good thing. Not to plug sound out completely, but to take it down a notch. And usually at concerts they take away the distortion from it being so loud, and you can hear the actual music better.
