Tom delonge and Billie Joe Armstrong wouldnt be able for Sum 41's music. Whatever about Tom Delonge but Billie joe is really shit on guitar as far as technicality goes and for anyone who thinks his song-writing qualifies him to be listed with anyone half good enough to play lead-guitar for Sum 41 is crazy. Come to think of it Billie joe is a pretty shit song-writer too IMO I know I'm gonna get roasted now!
Anyway
Neil Young
Dave going back would be great obviously
Dave grohl aswell would be cool

I would probally have Alex Lifeson (bassist of Rush), or maybe Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue.
actually, Buckethead would be really awesome, but none of those guys would prolly work well with the sums.

Tom Delonge sucks pretty much.
As much i don't like sticking up for Green Day anymore after what they've become but before Billie became a Make up wearing American idiot he actually played decent guitar.
Now i know Dave pisses all over Billie but watch this youtube videos, most of these solos where played by BJ when he was in his late teens, i think he could just about pull off songs like the bitter end personally.

(Excuse the blank gap in the middle as it is not the end of the video.)

They are all literally scales played over and over again to the same simplisticly slow tempo on which almost all Green Day songs are based. Nothing here shows that Billie Joe posesses the technicality to play solos like the Bitter End it's just in a completely dfferent class

yeah i agree with, fergal41, as a guitarist, i know, it's nothing special. nothing like the Bitter End.
btw, ChapStick, dont ever abbreviate Billie Joe's name into BJ! XD
BJ is for blowjob
