I don't think so, I've seen many touring members in some other bans like Craig in Transplants, Jason in Green Day, etc who are much more dynamic than that. There are some guitarrist like Shane (+44), David Kennedy, etc whose personality is just like that, quiet, they don't move much, and it's ok as long as they play ok. That's my opinion, maybe I'm wrong lol
Do you realize Jason isnt actually replacing anyone wheras Tom is..., Green Day choose from thier own will to use him live...Sum 41 had no choice than select a touring guitarist......Not only that, Green Day (on thier live album) put Jason in the credits, therefore considering him as a "memeber" (his also in wake me up when september ends video) ...WHERAS Tom isnt considered a part of the band in any way, shape or form. his not meant to be noticed, he isnt in any credits, credited on any live videos seen or in any photo or anything.......eg. his not in the underclass hero clip....

i think its just that because tom is used to being a frontman more than a lead guitarist, but ive seen twice, one time he was happy and one time he looked bored. and he doesnt look shy wtf! he looks bored.

i disagree with you, coz i saw deryck playing the underclass hero intro on the video rehearsal before they went to studio and it was really good

I think Tom is just trying to concentrate guys! It's not so much that he's bored. He can do his own thing but we all know that he respects the spots of all three members of Sum 41 onstage.

Think about the time that he had to simply learn all the songs! Then he has to go ahead and play them live. I'd be nervous if I had to perform in front of say a couple thousand with songs that I've just learned recently. Give the guy some credit.

I see what Curtis is trying to say. And it makes sense to me. As long as he does his job, then we should all be happy. Because putting a crappy guitarist that simply wants to be with the band would be disastrous. It would ruin the whole show if he didn't play properly! So what I have to say about Tom is that it's amazing what he's doing and he should keep up the hard work. :D And I can't wait for the new Gob album as well.

Tom plays pretty well. I'd rather hear "He sticks too close to the CD" rather than "He makes too many mistakes." If he's playing just as good as it is in the studio, then I'm glad.

As for showmanship... Well, he is the frontman for GOB so I don't think he's shy. He probably just wants to leave the spotlight on Sum 41 because he is just a touring guitarist afterall.

i like him i think he's a good guitarest but he dont seem like the same person her was with gob he had a lot of energy with them i would be happy if sum let him in the band.

OH MY GOD, I didn't even think of that. Yes, that would rock.

Todd would be not bad, but talking about Tom, I don't want him to take much participation in Sum 41 because he's just there to have a second guitar that cannot be avoided, not to fill Dave as part of the band itself.

As the guitar, yeah he did it very bad on that musique plus video, he screw up the solo in that one. As long as he doesn't keep doing that mistakes it would be ok, and yeah, I have to agree that the distortion for Underclass Hero is a lot better when is played by Deryck. In the rehearsald sounded just as a live representation from the studio final version, while when Tom's play it, the song sounds like with lack of power...

The thing that can make me very... VERY happy is if Daryck start playing again some solos, like in the DTLI? era when he did at least in three videos I have the Hell Song solo (once a half of it, Winterjam). After listening the Pull The Curtains solo in studio and saw him once to play part of the In Too Deep solo I'm very aware of such a good guitarrist Deryck is and I think that he would be able to perform very good the solos live, so sad he said onces in the Q&A that he doesn't like to play solos that much.

What I don't like is where he stands.
I hate how he stands right where Brownsound standed. He should be more in the back and Deryck, Cone and Stevo should position like a triangle.
I don't want to go to a concert and then wage the pit to be on the fence and be positioned in front of Tom.
I also don't like how when media posts a bunch of photos of Sum 41 on their website and there's a picture of just Tom.
I don't want to see this guy. He's not in the band. He hasn't done 11 years of Sum.
I also don't like the amount of vocals he does. Teach Cone to do them. He sings in The Operation, I know his vocals aren't the best, but he's Sum41.
I agree with Deryck playing more of the solos too.

I hate change.

grow up, he's now in sum 41 wether he only tours or not.
and cone doesn't sing well so i prefer to hear tom instead of cone.

lol to the above quote.

and yeah, regarding his voice, he sings well, and don't forget that he's the lead vocals from a recognised band so...

You may not like it but you have to deal with it anyway. Too bad. What you're asking for is that he has no freedom as a touring guitar player but as to only stand in one spot and play hidden from everyone else. Well honestly if I was going in for that job I wouldn't take it!

As for the Todd Morse idea, well he's only been in like three bands now.

Juliette and the Licks, H20, and now The Operation M.D.

i think he should be made a pernament member of the band, yeh i know i'm gonna get flamed with "ZOMG LYK DAVE WAS TEH BETS" but come on, dave aint coming back is he? hes happy with "brown brigade" so i think they should find a permanet member to replace him.

my only criticism is his fasion, why does he wear that blue suit thing, and sometimes that daft hat.

Now that I saw the Underclass Hero Live I gotta say that I was worng. It look like he was shy to me at first, but he was just awesome in this live, playing keyboard, the vocals were absolutely great. So yeah Pull-The_Curtis was right all along, my bad :P
