Why should his name be in the booklet if he didn't do anything but write one song for the album, and he didn't even record parts for said song?
It should at least say somewhere on there:

"All songs written by Deryck Whibley except track 2; wirtten by Deryck Whibley and Tom Thacker."

Or something along those lines.
that's exactly what the page under the CD does.

and Baby You Don't Wanna Know is co-written with Matt Squire

ps: Deryck mixed the tracks 4,10,12 and 14

I remember a while back they asked for raps about Brown Tom and I tweeted some ideas, they retweeted some of them but I guess I didn't make the cut!

Edit: Also, Deryck writes pretty much everything.. always has done always will do.

It's funny that he mixed 4 + 12 and we said they didn't fit in the album. You can definitely hear an Oasis/rock vibe from them, would be good if they made an album that was rock.

i actually prefer that it was almost completely deryck's monster. bands where there is 1 controlling force songwriting-wise (aka the singer/lyricist is also the musical songwriter, whether it be guitar or piano) tend to be my favorites (ex: oasis - noel wrote all the lyrics, liam just sang them mostly, coldplay, sublime, the sums, radiohead, the offspring, etc.) and plus w/ only one creative force, there isn't an awkward conflict of style and the album is likely to flow smoother.

Me too man, and I mean if you're going to only have one person controlling the songs.. might as well be Deryck Whibley :winkwink:

I think the album would've turned out much differently if he played a huge impact.

^ What you said is true, but it's not really what I like about bands. I like everyone to be in it and doing everything. If it's a band it should be everyones stuff. blink-182 made it work, and it worked fucking well. Each person in it does whatever they want, they all bring it back down, mess it around and create awesome music.

It does seem kind of fucked up that the lead guitarist doesn't even record his parts.

Allthough Tom didn't contribute THAT much to the album, I believe he did some useful things.

I don't like the fact his name isn't in the booklet. It says: "Sum 41 is..."

His name should've been in there, without a doubt.

Tom is in the credits!

it says Screaming Bloody Murder written by Tom Thacker and Deryck Whibley..

btw...

Some guy did percussion on 2 tracks and another guy did piano on Crash

There were 2 other noteworthy things in the credits but I forgot about those.. I'll post those later

Wasn't it Roger Joseph Manning, Jr. that did piano and keyboards on the album? I remember that video update where he came around and helped Deryck with the piano, played some cool complicated piano shit in that update.

For those of you who don't know him, he's a session keyboardist that played session keyboards on many Blink 182, AvA and Avenged Sevenfold records. He's also credited on the wikipedia page of SBM but then again, we can't really trust wikipedia and we don't know if his parts stayed on the final product.

He didn't play on anything that made the final cut.
